Nice well equipped rooms with a quirky style of their own. Reception staff friendly and efficient. Great breakfast. Would love some firm pillows - we forgot that they have only very soft marshmallows (no doubt expensive) that collapse to nothing. It's the only fault and we will try and remember to bring our own next time.

We stayed for one night. Having broken the kettle by accident, it was replaced cheerfully and with no quibbles - we did offer to pay as it was our fault! Returning to our room after a really excellent meal in the bar we found that our ensuite bathroom had flooded. Again, this was dealt with cheerfully and promptly - we... More

I stayed in one of the newly refurbished annexe rooms. They are tastefully furnished and have all the necessities. Unfortunately, there was a problem with the hot water - it never got above luke warm - but I was given a discount on my bill basically before asking - a sign of very good service. The staff were all friendly... More

Visited this restaurant on a Monday night. As we were dining with friends we decided that we'd just eat in their pub section (there is a fine dining restaurant as well) as we'd already settled with some pre-dinner drinks in front of the fire. We were really surprised at the food that was on offer in the pub, it was... More

The Elephant is located right in the center of Pangbourne, a delightful village on the Thames. The hotel's main rooms, including the bar, are located in the main house, with most of the rooms in an adjoining annexe. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay; the full English breakfast to die for; and my room very comfortable, in... More

This dog friendly hotel is decorated in quirky Indian style. The bedrooms were very nice and clean and lovely touches like the Union Jack cushion, water and feeding bowls for our dogs were well appreciated. The stuff for humans were good, too and everything was spotless. The hotel has an excellent enclosed garden with an outdoors giant chess set available.... More

We booked our anniversary dinner for friends & family here & have had absolutely no regrets. We had four rooms for people travelling long distance, all were different & all were liked by the occupants. Bed linen & towels were of an extremely high quality pillows very comfortable. En-suites & showers were excellent, possibly the only slight critiscism were from... More

The decor is Elephant everywhere- even down to the carved key fobs. Indian styled decor carries the overall theme. Comfortable room with good bathroom. Location will suit walkers doing the Thames Path long distance walk.
