I have to say this is the first place I have stayed with more roaches than I had family members. We killed a couple when we first arrived. This morning I was lying on my stomach reading emails when I felt something scampering on the back of my leg. I looked behind me and there was a large roach heading for my foot ! Totally inexcusable and gross. Dont reply to this saying you treat for pest’s because You need a proper bombing of everything on the property and need to fire your current exterminator.

Family of 4, traveling to SC. First night, we saw 2 cockroaches 20 minutes apart. They relocated us to another room, at opposite end of complex. On way back foolishly stayed again. Different room, but around 9:30 cockroaches again.

I was hoping this would be a great place to stayed to accommodate my family. Six of us. 4 adults and two children. My oldest sons were on vacation. I reserved two penthouse suites so we wouldn't be cramped. My first room was a complete disaster. Everything was loose, the tubs wouldn't hold water the electrical outlets and phone jacks were loose. The little closet where the air conditioner vent system was kept was filthy the filter was out. On top of that the whole closet was covered in dust and mold. In my son's room, the deadbolt fell off of the door when they opened it and the sleeper sofa was urine soaked. The next day when I complained we were told we could switch rooms. We let the desk know that we would not be back to change rooms until 4. It poured the whole day and we ended up changing rooms in the rain. In the meantime, house keeping had started throwing items away while we were trying to move rooms. Next night. Same issues with loose electrical fittings. No hot water in the downstairs tub and a loose tile on the floor in the upstairs bathroom. I slipped on that when I went to the bathroom. The bathrooms in both rooms were filthy. The hot tub was broken the whole time we were there which just added to the disappointment of the whole stay They did fix the hot water and the loose tile, but the trip was ruined. For all of the trouble we had, we were only comped one night in one room. This was a stay that definitely has me questioning remaining a Bonvoy member. The lack of cleanliness and general concern for guest welfare was enough to ensure I will never book a stay at this particular hotel again.

We’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times — we love Raleigh as a perfect midpoint stop on our way to the Outer Banks. This visit, sadly, will be our last. Each time we come, the rooms are even shabbier, the carpet more frayed, the lighting dimmer, and the bathrooms more dated. This time, we had the bonus joys of a clearly overtaxed air conditioner, black hair in the shower, and a door lock mechanism that literally popped off the door when we shut it (we were able to reassemble it, so we could use the door). We did appreciate the location, room upgrade, easy parking, and nice breakfast room — but it’s just not enough to offset the increasingly sad state of the rooms themselves.

I stay at a Residence Inn almost exclusively because I travel with my dogs and Residence Inn is super dog friendly 🐕🐕 and it has a kitchen. I love the first generation Residence Inn... Condo/Apartment living style. No struggling to drag my luggage down a carpeted hallway. This is the prettiest first generation Residence Inn I have stated at (Warwick RI, Valley Forge PA, Cleveland Independence OH). This hotel might have been remodeled not too long ago. The landscape is beautiful what made me feel I'm staying in a garden. It has all the amenities offered at all the other Residence Inns. This is a great design for people traveling in groups. The towels in the hotel is so nice... white, thick, soft, fluffy. They are the nicest that I remember comparing to most if the Residence Inn towels. There are three small dog walking area in the back of the hotel. At check in, I got a nice welcome gift containing a bottle of Fiji water, a bag of chips and a nice welcome note. That is such a nice gesture. ♥️ I will stay here again. Oh, one night I saw a huge bug, larger than a cricket, that looked like a cockroach crawling outside my sliding glass door. 😨😱😫 If you or your traveling buddy has mobility difficulty, I recommend mentioning to the hotel. Some of the first floor rooms have 3-5 steps in front of them. You might want to ask for a room on the first floor facing and next to the parking spaces so you don't have to walk too far between your car and your room.
