While on vacation in Raleigh, we decided to stay at the Residence Inn Crabtree valley. We have stayed here for short visits, but this was the first time we stayed for week. We are also Marriott Residence Inn fans since they allow larger pets, and we often travel with our golden retriever, so we have several other properties to compare with this hotel.

The location is excellent being adjacent to the Crabtree Valley Mall with several shopping and food options, next to a bike/walking trail, and located adjacent to other hotels. Parking was ample and contained some covered parking which was helpful when it was raining. Plenty of hotel amenities but we only used the buffet breakfast and the guest laundry. Our main complaint was it appeared the hotel did not enforce the wearing of masks as vigilantly as other hotels...they had a handwritten white board which stated "please wear your mask." As a result, it seemed that we encountered more guests not wearing masks than at other hotels recently. Our other concern was that although their hot breakfast buffet options were more than other hotels, the guests were able to serve themselves. Since some of the guests serving themselves were not wearing masks or partially wearing them, this caused us not to get certain things on the buffet especially if the people who were in the buffet (just before us) were not wearing a mask and talking or even coughing. We thought that was a big miss on their part, even if the food was well prepared...

All and all, we had a very positive stay except for the mask issue, which my wife tried to bring to their attention.

Melia, the GM, made our pre-wedding planning weekend spectacular. She helped us with our reservations, was very flexible when we wanted to stay LONGER because of her and her staff and their customer focus. Melia was so positive and supportive. She sincerely cared about us as guests and was genuinely happy about our plans and our stay. She helped to get all of our rooms together and made us feel like valued guests. I highly recommend this hotel and kudos to Melia!

The hotel is very convenient. The hotel has been our home away from home for many years because of business in the area. Love that there is a full size kitchen in each room. However, this hotel needs a good cleaning and a maintenance check. We've found lately that it's really beginning to show it's age. The high standard of the Marriott brand is starting to slip in this location.
The staff is very helpful though, and there are quite a few amenities at this hotel.

Marriott or Super 8? One will never know. Walked to my room and was completely confused as to if I was staying on a smoking floor. Called the front desk to see if there was a mix up and no, I was on a non-smoking floor but was reassured that they would spray the hallway. Lol! The rooms made me nervous bc the baseboards were disgusting, my toilet seat is obviously 100 years old with scuff marks from years past. I literally just can’t. Marriott has been my go to for years but this place has changed my opinion in a miraculous way. And for the review readers? You’re welcome. I’m saving you the hassle of booking this hotel.

The review is actually 0 not 1 star. The bed sheets wete stained with blood , its 91 degreed outside and air conditioning is non existent in the room, the air conditioner unit has an active leak (please note this is what sickened and killed several Legionner's in the 70's and to top it all off, there was a dehumidifier in the room to hide the fact that there was a water leak in the room. The staff claimed it was a humidifier (who uses a humidifier in 91 degree heat and 60% humidity.

Would recommend staying at the Motel 6 as it is cleaner.

Loved everything about this hotel! Clean spacious room and I loved the stand up shower!

Also the breakfast buffet was one of the best I’ve ever experienced. Many fresh hot items and freshly cut fruit. The breakfast attendant was AMAZING. I wish I’d gotten her name. So friendly and helpful!

Also big KUDOS to them for finding the pillow I left behind. That’s a rarity to get something you’ve left behind, back. Thanks so much to the staff at this hotel!!

I would highly recommend this property.

I couldn’t resist writing this review as I checked in and still staying here. This is an old and dated property not suitable for business travelers. I got misled by good reviews and high rating and booked this. It’s a very depressing room with run down furniture and fittings which look from 80s. I can’t believe this is a Marriott property. This may be ok for people looking for long term stay with a kitchen but a strict no-no for business travelers. I feel this should be half the price I paid for it.

We really like Marriott. Some problems here. The air/heat fan was so loud it woke us up all night long when it kicked on. The bathroom fan was so loud it was horrible. We reported these. The both fans were worked on (oiled maybe) and were better. We were told they are just old. Worst sleep we have ever had in a Marriott. To give them credit they did give me a key to check out two empty rooms. Put the air on and one was even louder. They were VERY nice at the desk. The breakfast was about the best ever. They have a cute bar and light food in the lobby, a plus.

This property offers a lot of what I look for when traveling on business. This Residence Inn is actually about an 5-10 minute walk past a McDonalds to area restaurants (Flemings, McCormick's) if you won't want to drive. While check-in was a bit slow since the staff also had to field the phones at the same time, the rooms seemed newer and fresh. The sunniest rooms probably face front and away from the Fairfield Inn behind, but it's not problematic either way.

A hot breakfast was available early. Boarding pass printing right in the lobby. A small but full bar also in the center of the lobby area. Parking was fine.

The Renaissance North Hills and Umstead Hotel are superior area properties, but this is quite high value choice if you cannot get into those. Both were booked when I visited, and I was happy with the property.

Hello! Our shuttle is unable to go to special events at the PNC Arena/Fairgrounds; however, we are able to go in a 3 mile radius around our hotel to many of the restaurants, shopping centers, and grocery stores that surround us. The PNC Arena is just shy of 5 miles away and we do have a cab service that we would be happy to arrange for you if you would like. In this area, cab services charge $2.50 per mile so a trip would be right around $12.00-$13.00. Again, we will be happy to help coordinate any transportation you need from our property!
