We arrived to the hotel early as I told the lady we would when booking.. she said totally fine and we could enjoy the pool and such inside was clean and looked nice. We are picky hotel stayers and are willing to pay... pool was decently clean. I’m not a public pool person but I love water and it was a warm day... once we could check into our hotel we did so we could get ready for the night out... once arriving to the room it was HOT in there so we went to turn the air on.... MOLD!!!!! We immediately called the front desk and they sent someone up to check... he walked in and looked and said oh it’s just dust.... he wiped it off with TOILET paper and left.... well if it were just DUST it would have come back during our stay.... it didn’t and guess who has been sick since last Wednesday after staying here?!? 🙋🏼♀️😡🤬 I’ve finally gotten my voice back and will be calling to complain!…
The 2 young guys at the front desk were not all helpful. I think they were more interested in celebrating the 4th holiday. I had to wait 3 hours to get towels and extra pillows. I inquired with 3 people (maid on the floor (another young guy), head of housekeeping and back down to the from desk before calling down a 4th time get the requested items. As soon as we got off the elevator there was a snitched of which I assumed was coming from the poor A/C system in the Conner. Upon entering my room (402) the smell was even worse. It smelled like soiled carpets. Upon inquiring about the smell I was told all the rooms smelled the same. I had to go an purchase candles to burn during my entire stay. They did not even closely mask the odor for such a small place. Upon waking up the nest morning I had a terrible headache and soar throat. I think this due to the poor ventilation system and the mold noted in the bathroom corners and A/C unit. This is really a safety concern. I will not even mention the rust in the bath tub, very dingy linens and curtains. The whole hotel needs a total rehab and mold inspection. In addition the pool needs to be closed down It was not fit to get in the water, looks like floating bacteria.…
David Winslow, the manager, is a terrible person and employee. When I was in town and in the lobby, I overheard two elderly men attempting to check in for a room. They arrived early and were unaware that check-in wasn't until 3pm. Instead of being warm and welcoming and explaining to these men that check-in wasn't until 3pm, he spoke in a very flippant/condescending tone and basically said there was nothing he could do for them. These men were extremely confused as to why they couldn't check in and David failed to find their reservation. Instead of trying to help them, he continuously stated, "I don't know what hotel that you're booked at but it's not here" and he walked away. Another (black, female) employee came up and assisted them and helped them find out which hotel their reservation was located at and even helped provide directions to get there. I am a Platinum member and have stayed at several Marriott hotels and just listening in on this conversation was shocking. I've received nothing but amazing service from all other employees (especially the ones with the brown/blonde long curly hair, the guy with the short blond cut, and the other managers). You never know who's nearby listening but I am disgusted with the way a "manager" handled this situation. He had NO empathy and NO compassion. I work with elderly people and they need someone to be PATIENT with them and KIND! David is the exact opposite.. how do you work in hospitality and you're not even hospitable? I can't even imagine how he talks to people on a daily basis. During the rest of my stay, I overheard David speaking condescendingly to other employees and he did not greet guests as they came in. Considering that I travel to North Carolina often, I will reconsider my stay at the Fairfield next time as I don't want to put any extra money into his pockets. Even when I had an issue with my room, each of my requests were met with empathy and respect. A wonderful front desk staff and wonderful housekeeping staff. Overall, the quality of the hotel seems rather cheap.. but then again, it is a Fairfield. If anyone sees this, I'd highly recommend staying at the Residence Inn or the Courtyard next door. MAYBE EVEN THE LAQUINTA! Both excellent properties and EVERYONE has always been respectful to me and other guests. My advice would be to hire someone who genuinely cares about the guests and puts them forward. Without guests, you don't have a business. You take care of your clients and in the end their $$$ will take care of you. Hospitality is something that needs to be sold the moment you step in those doors and David failed at that. Especially for how much we have to pay per night, respect and awesome customer service is an industry standard. As I stated previously, put your concern about making the $$ aside, and it will come to you. TAKE CARE OF ALL PEOPLE RESPECTFULLY! No, I don't want to be contacted to discuss my stay. Convenient location, clean property, close to the mall so many dining options. Fast check in, polite staff, very clean room, and the usual breakfast that stayed well stocked. All in all, a great place to stay while on business. Will be back.
Great place to stay on the cheap; not too far from any of the Raleigh attractions. Crabtree Valley Mall is just a 10 minute walk, a large selections of eateries near and in the mall. Shopping is good. Stayed here for the Memorial Day weekend (2 nights), great service, very clean hotel, free breakfast, staff is friendly and professional. I would stay here again on my next visit
