We needed an overnight stop between home and our Scottish destination. We were originally looking at the usual chain(s) of accommodation. We saw the incredibly positive reviews on Tripadvisor and decided to book at Greenbank. It is only about 5-10 minutes away from Junction 33 of the M6 but is in a quite rural setting (so no worrying about the...

We have been visiting Greenbank Farmhouse as a halfway point between home in Scotland and family in Oxfordshire and have loved every visit. Extremely comfortable, handy for the M6 but far enough away to be unaware of it. Excellently appointed with everything that we could possibly want already thought out and provided, and a wonderful welcome at all times times...

We chose Greenbanks as a suitable journey break on return from holiday in Scotland. It needed to provide no more than a reasonably comfortable bed for some much needed sleep prior to continuing our journey at 3am in the morning! It provided so much more than that. Sally is clearly a very experienced host - her delightful manner, the rooms….everything...

With an appointment in Lancaster, we were looking for somewhere to stay that was close to the city but set in a quiet, rural area. Greenbank Farmhouse ticked all the boxes. Our room was spacious and comfortable; the views lovely; breakfast cooked to order; hosts helpful and friendly. We've already booked to visit again later in the year when we'll...

Very friendly hosts, breakfast with a view as we sat in the sunny conservatory and watched a hare in the field. In addition to full English a good choice of cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit and toast with delicious preserves. Room warm, clean and comfortable with hot chocolate and biscuits as well as the usual tea and coffee. Discount for booking...

This is a fabulous place to stay and I can't recommend it highly enough. The owners are really friendly and helpful but leave you alone to enjoy your stay. The room is first class. Large comfy bed and very high spec bathroom. Everything you need is catered for and the breakfast was tasty with plenty of choice... I especially like...

Stayed for New Year's Eve and went to a local restaurant for dinner. Our stay was wonderful, and enhanced by the superb hospitality of Sally and Simon, the owners. The room was lovely. Breakfast superb. Simon even took us to the restaurant for our meal and collected us when we'd finished. Can highly recommend. We will definitely be returning

We stayed for one night in November. The B&B was easy to find, we were welcomed on arrival by Sally, who made us most welcome and we were shown to our room. It was spacious and well equipped. Sally remembered we needed somewhere to eat and asked if we'd managed to find somewhere, which we thought was a nice personal...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This is a great value B&B 20 mins from city centre, close to Lancaster University however your own transport is essential to stay here. Comfy, peaceful accommodation with panoramic view of fells behind. Close enough for trips to Lakes and Dales. Home grown eggs served with local bacon and sausages and home made bread. We are situated on the edge of the Forest of Bowland with the fabulous Trough road leading through towards Slaidburn and Clitheroe. This area is haven for walkers and bikers but it's a well kept secret so don't tell anyone. ... more   less
