This was such a magical inn tucked away in the middle of the countryside. The surrounding village, Fearrington Village, is adorable and offers a bookstore, casual dining (The Belted Goat), and cute shopping options. Our room at the inn was beautiful and huge. The bathroom was ultra-luxurious--with heated floors! Everything was fun, convenient, and unique. We dined at the The Fearrington House Restaurant, which was truly a five-star experience. Highly recommend this place!

This is an absolutely charming premier inn that is part of a dairy farm that has been converted into a residential village. It is about 15 minutes away from Chapel Hill and UNC. There are quaint homes, shops, the inn and its adjacent excellent gourmet restaurant on the property. There is a barn and there are various farm animals populating fields around the property including unique white banded cows. The inn sits on a corner of the main village quadrangle. The entire property is beautifully landscaped. Our premium accommodation included a very nice sitting room and large bedroom with a big king size bed and working gas fueled fireplace. The spacious bathroom had two sinks, and a walk-in shower, and also had a heated floor and towel warmer. It’s was very nicely laid out and supplied with quality amenities. We enjoyed the special restaurant Thanksgiving menu with family who live nearby on our first day and then the fabulous gourmet tasting menu on our next night. Tables in the restaurant are well spaced and limited in number, so be sure to reserve. A superb full breakfast is included in the room rate. Don’t pass it up!! All of the staff at the inn, restaurant, and shops were very friendly and helpful. If you read other reviews you will find mixed reviews, many 5-star and 2-star. The pandemic did impact the levels of service for a time but the inn and restaurant are well recovered now. We definitely thought it was a 5-Star experience worth the premium prices and look forward to returning when we are in the area visiting family. Also, the inn is closed on Mondays days and Tuesdays. Be advised that there are no refrigerators in any of the rooms. That was the only thing missing.

I needed a place to stay and relax for a few days while on a long car trip. I think I found the absolute best location for my stay. The Fearrington House is unique, it is a planned town/community built aside a working farm. Beautiful green grass and white fences draw you to the middle of the town which is tree lined and beautifully landscaped. My rooms were on the 2nd floor just across from the plantation house and in its immediate grounds. I had breakfast each morning in the dining room in the plantation house and a dinner in the bar lounge in the same building. Service was excellent in all aspects of my stay including check in and out and all meals. The rooms were very clean and the bed very comfortable. The towels were fanastic as was the bathroom and shower. A good mix between the old look but contemporary necessities. The heated towel rack came in very handy. The rest of the business end of the village contained a few stores, a book store, a unique market/restaurant and a spa. So many ways to walk around the village, the lake, the walking paths and the homes on the property. Certainly a wonderful place to live. Not far from Falls Church and Durham. I highly recommend a stay here.

Amazing experience at Fearrington celebrating our 10th anniversary. This place is a treasure. Highly recommended for weekend getaways and special occasions. The gardens are immaculate. Loved the sitting rooms as we strolled the grounds.

room great, the common areas (gardens and libraries) both at the top of the list for any hotel anywhere imo. the animals in the barn being accessible at all hours was also an unbelievably good touch. Walking paths really nice as well

Following consideration, we decided on this property for an anniversary getaway; we had dined here before but not stayed. Our choice was a very good one. The property is attractive, located as part of a bucolic village, including a charming and classy bookstore, walking trails, shops, and iconic grazing herd of belted Galloway cattle. The gardened grounds are stunning. There is a fine restaurant, plus outdoor pizza option, and terrific bar with a barman named Watson who is wonderfully experienced and kind. The bar menu is interesting and a viable option. Without exception the staff is excellent; Rashad ably conducted our initial orientation and when finished we felt we had a new friend. A full and excellent breakfast is included; my choice was shrimp and grits and it was certainly as good as I have ever had. The room was quiet, very comfortable, and fully appointed. Prices were reasonable for this quality. We intend to make a return visit.

I’ve stayed at this lovely inn several times and always come back when I have business in Chapel Hill. Today I must add that not only is this a lovely place to stay and eat, they are also excellent in customer service. My flight today was delayed indefinitely so I called to cancel my hotel reservation. Even though it was late afternoon the day I was supposed to arrive, the Inn readily cancelled my room with no penalty or protest. That really made my day after a long, frustrating wait at the airport.

From the moment we arrived, everything was perfection. It didn't hurt that we were upgraded to a 2 room suite with fireplace, heated ba towels and lovely amenities. Staff was incredibly welcoming. Inn is in a beautiful setting with a few shops. Breakfast, which is included, ie over the top. Super quality and more than one can eat. Croissants, made in house , are as good as any in France. Expensive but worth it.

Located on a pristine property and cute little village, The Fearrington House Inn offers first-class accommodations. We had a well-appointed, room on a top floor with a high ceiling, sitting area, large bathroom and comfy king-size bed. We also enjoyed the sun room's fire and seating area. There is another 'family room' with an outside patio that leads into a large outside area.
