It was a perfect reset! I have only positive things to say about my one week stay at Skyterra, and I hope to come again. I have recommended it to numerous people already. My daughter and I came together and we both feel so blessed by the experience.
I went to Skyterra for many reasons - weight, general health, stress, and just the sense that I needed to press pause on my life after two years of an oddly stagnant existence - some the pandemic, some personal issues. I'm a pretty (make that very) skeptical person, and it was a huge leap of faith for me to go to anything called a "wellness retreat" but I went and it was one of the best choices I've made in a long, long time. Not because I lost a ton of weight (I didn't, though my body composition improved) but because it did exactly what I needed it to do - put some space between me and all the bad habits and sad thoughts and stress of the past couple of years. I feel like I have new energy to address the business of living a more fulfilling and balanced life, and new tools as well. Here's some practical stuff: The accommodations are awesome; the food is better than you think it will be - by a lot; the grounds are pretty (were pretty even in February when very little is pretty); the staff are uniformly kind and knowledgeable; the spa is a bonus; the fitness classes are well run and welcoming; the hikes are gorgeous. I stayed for a longish time, and anything you do for a longish time will include some less than perfect moments, just like not every staff member can be your perfect match, even with all the good intentions possible (and my saying this is how you know I'm not lying about the good stuff) but you'll naturally find the people to whom you best connect and you will make friends among your fellow guests. I wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend Skyterra for anyone who needs a new, supportive context from which to begin to move forward - in whatever ways, be they physical or emotional or, as is usually true, some synthesis of those. And I'll go back.…
This is the best place to relax and reset!!!! Great staff. Great food! Great ammentities! Great new friends! There is plenty to do such as fitness classes, informational classes, walks, excursions, etc. You will love it!
Great headstart to really set yourself up for success in nutrition and fitness. I have been back from my trip for two weeks and so far have continued to lose fat and gain muscle thanks to the many lessons learned at skyterra.
Beautiful setting, competent instructors, small group size, clean, spacious accommodations. Fun activities like floating in a tube down the river and pickle ball, informative classes and excellent yoga and cardio/strength training. Communal dining provides an opportunity for interesting and friendly conversation.
Truly a special place. Impossible to put into words! Great guests, amazing staff, beautiful grounds, etc. The entire package! Food was I spent three weeks there and wish I could have spent even more! The fitness classes were varied, the instructors are sure to give you personal attention to ensure your form Is correct, the kitchen servers amazing and kind, the chefs put personal detail into each guest’s needs, the owner is present and truly cares, the front desk and management leave no stone unturned, maintenance and cleaning staff even walked our dogs if we were too busy! It’s just the real deal! Every staff member knows your name within hours of your check in! It’s the real deal!
I recently enjoyed my third visit to SkyTerra. I stayed 1 week each visit. I really enjoy everything about SkyTerra. The staff is amazingly helpful and attentive to anything they can do to make your stay more enjoyable and rewarding. The accommodations are wonderful, with attention to detail. The food is varied, flavorful, and healthy. The classes are varied, small and the instructors are motivating. Every visit allows me to learn more, and I always come home with new ideas and motivation to stay healthy. Their post-visit website for helping you continue a healthier lifestyle is full of information and videos. I definitely recommend this wellness retreat, and I am looking forward to another visit in a few months.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! For over $500/night you can do better. The food was boring, tasteless, unseasoned and blah. The private classes are overbooked so you can't do those. The classes that are included in your stay, the popular ones are overbooked also. The location is divine and the cabins are private and comfortable but that's about all the positives with this retreat. The classes are all very basic and taught by college interns. The yoga and meditation classes were fantastic. There seemed to be preferential treatment to those guests staying more than one week Alot of marketing to sign up for your next visit, and being reminded to stay more than one week My massage was overpriced and horrible and I'm still receiving charges on my credit card for who knows what
We finished a week at Skyterra and it was such a lovely experience. The staff is really incredible 100% of the time. There wasn’t anything we asked for that they didn’t accommodate. We hiked and exercised. We ate surprisingly great foods that we are excited to make at home. We brought our dogs and they had the time of their lives. The property is beautiful and our cottage was so comfy with everything we needed to stay for a week or a month. We can highly recommend Skyterra!
Great place to get healthy! Wonderful experience! The service was terrific. I am gluten free, don’t eat pork, non-grass fed beef and prefer less diary…they accommodated everyone’s needs. I worked out harder than I have in years! Best massage ever! Loved playing pickleball! Very nice accommodations.
