River Neuse Suites is Oriental's newest hotel, rebuilt and decorated in 2007. Rooms have a bright, beachy decor. We're pet friendly on our first floor. Our upstairs lofts have an unparalleled view of the Neuse River, and you can spend an evening sitting out front relaxing with your favorite beverage. We have a large yard right on the water that is perfect for group events! Our town is a quaint, quiet fishing village of 900 people with many sailors and artists. If you enjoy being on the water, Oriental is the place to be!! You can fish the day away with one of our world-class guides, spend a weekend sailing, or explore the quiet backwaters in a kayak or paddleboard. Each room has wireless Internet, wide screen TVs and a modified kitchenette. Free bicycles available to explore the village. Friendly, helpful staff will make your stay a memorable one.

It had been about four years since our last trip to the River Neuse. We returned this summer and were pleased once again to have a wonderful trip. We booked Room 201 this time, which has an amazing view of the river. The unit was very clean. Our room had the bathroom and kitchen/living area on the main floor and steps up to the second floor where the bedroom was located. Both areas had AC units which kept it quite cool. Both rooms also had TVs which we rarely used. The mini fridge and microwave was perfect for the two of us wanting to have some light meals when not going out to eat. There’s an ice machine in the little building beside the parking lot, and bikes to check out if you want to cruise the town. The inn’s location is great for more than just being riverfront. In addition, it is within walking distance to Lou Mac Park and their fishing pier. This pier is also a great place to catch the sunrise. Bring your camera and your binoculars. You can also walk about five minutes or have a quick drive down to several restaurants/coffee shops nearby. Being from the mountains, I loved just sitting by the river in the Adirondack chairs and watching the boats go by. If you’re looking for some action, then New Bern is about 35-40 minutes away. Stuart and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to help make our stay pleasant. Thanks for such a high level of customer service. Hopefully we will make it back before another four years is up.

We had a wonderful stay at River Neuse Suites. Our condo was extremely clean and very comfortable. The kitchen area had everything we needed for eating breakfast and lunch in our room. The view of the river was outstanding. Stuart was friendly and helpful. We hope to return soon.

The location - across the street from the beautiful bay that makes Oriental the sailing capital of North Carolina - is lovely. Oriental itself is (very) small and quaint - think 1-2 shops and 2-4 restaurants and a 1-2 mile square area to walk/bike around. Very relaxing. This hotel has - as noted above - a great location, but the rooms are circa 1970 - all tile floors; noisy window A/C; none existent wi-fi (they will tell you to click on a certain wi-fi, but good luck having that one show up on a Mac or a PC, even if you type in the name!); tv stations that say they can't be loaded. Right outside the room, there will be an all night light in the hall for making sleeping a little challenging. Only one nightstand per room, too, so if you have a king size bed, only one person can stay up and read! Clean.

We had a great time in Oriental, accommodations at the River Neuse were great! We could walk all over town, to the Dragon Parade for New Years Eve and to restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and welcoming. Located close enough to everything we wanted to do (even got in a tennis match) and very quiet. Would definitely recommend and will stay here again!

This place is just perfect. Better than home away from home. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have every amenity you could need. Management was friendly and met our every need. The view is gorgeous, and has a pier right across the street. This place is homey and the town is just peaceful. Our new destination for vacations!

I read the reviews on this hotel before booking, but I have to admit I was somewhat skeptical regarding the effusive terms used. I was more than pleasantly surprised to find the accolades were well-deserved. Our room at River Neuse Suites was nicely furnished and comfortable, and very clean. The king-sized bed was comfy, with nice linens. The bathroom linens were better than average for a small hotel. A well-equipped kitchenette with a sink, microwave and refrigerator are in each room too, which is nice for an extended stay, and dishes, flatware, coffee pot and toaster are provided. Actually, the coffee provided for the drip coffeemaker was better than average. When I made my reservation, I had advised the booking clerk that we were a mature couple with some mobility issues, and we were given a room on the first floor. I believe the person who greeted us on arrival may be the owner, and he accompanied us to our room to make sure it was ready for us. Staying in a small coastal town in a small hotel can be a great experience after all.

Everything about this hotel was OUTSTANDING. The lady I spoke to for my room reservation, was awesome. Very professional and helpful. She called me back to verify if I had any questions. Upon arrival, my room - the lights and heater were already on. The room was large. Extremely Clean. Bed - Outstanding. The outside was awesome - overlooking the Neuse River and the Pamico Sound. I rarely give a OUTSTANDING to any location. Highly Recommend this location. SUGGESTION: If you are hungry, Oriental Mini Mart - Looks like a simple gas station/convenience store. They make homemade pizzas. Only $10. During the day, they have a large selection of food available. Both men working there, were Outstanding also. Very helpful and professional. The town of Oriental recently was hit by Hurricane Florence. Town is still recovering, but it is beautiful. Its a MUST see. I plan to go back and spend both Saturday / Sunday here.
