River Neuse Suites is Oriental's newest hotel, rebuilt and decorated in 2007. Rooms have a bright, beachy decor. We're pet friendly on our first floor. Our upstairs lofts have an unparalleled view of the Neuse River, and you can spend an evening sitting out front relaxing with your favorite beverage. We have a large yard right on the water that is perfect for group events! Our town is a quaint, quiet fishing village of 900 people with many sailors and artists. If you enjoy being on the water, Oriental is the place to be!! You can fish the day away with one of our world-class guides, spend a weekend sailing, or explore the quiet backwaters in a kayak or paddleboard. Each room has wireless Internet, wide screen TVs and a modified kitchenette. Free bicycles available to explore the village. Friendly, helpful staff will make your stay a memorable one.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
It had been about four years since our last trip to the River Neuse. We returned this summer and were pleased once again to have a wonderful trip.
We booked Room 201 this time, which has an amazing view of the river. The unit was very clean. Our room had the bathroom and kitchen/living area on the main floor and steps up to the second floor where the bedroom was located. Both areas had AC units which kept it quite cool. Both rooms also had TVs which we rarely used. The mini fridge and microwave was perfect for the two of us wanting to have some light meals when not going out to eat. There’s an ice machine in the little building beside the parking lot, and bikes to check out if you want to cruise the town.
The inn’s location is great for more than just being riverfront. In addition, it is within walking distance to Lou Mac Park and their fishing pier. This pier is also a great place to catch the sunrise. Bring your camera and your binoculars. You can also walk about five minutes or have a quick drive down to several restaurants/coffee shops nearby. Being from the mountains, I loved just sitting by the river in the Adirondack chairs and watching the boats go by. If you’re looking for some action, then New Bern is about 35-40 minutes away.
Stuart and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to help make our stay pleasant. Thanks for such a high level of customer service.

I keep coming back! I cannot say enough wonderful things about staying at River Neuse Suites! I love the coastal decor, the incredible and accommodating staff, and above all, it is clean as a whistle! They have everything you need, the view of the Neuse is lovely, and if you are seeking lodging in this area, look no further. 10/10 recommend! Always a lovely stay!

We had a great time in Oriental, accommodations at the River Neuse were great!
We could walk all over town, to the Dragon Parade for New Years Eve and to restaurants.
Staff was friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and welcoming. Located close enough to everything we wanted to do (even got in a tennis match) and very quiet.

Absolutely the best place to be if you are looking for a peaceful place to watch the most amazing sunrises you have ever seen, go fishing, and sitting alongside the river. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, about 8:30 in the evening, the hotel had a hot water issue but the manager called me to let me know. Told me it would be fixed by morning...and it was! Thats service! The hotel has all of the necessities of home...making it the perfect home away from home. I highly recommend River Neuse Suites!

We had a wonderful stay at River Neuse Suites. Our condo was extremely clean and very comfortable. The kitchen area had everything we needed for eating breakfast and lunch in our room. The view of the river was outstanding. Stuart was friendly and helpful. We hope to return soon.

We were in town for a wedding at the River Dunes development. It was about a 13 minute drive. Not bad. I loved this nice motel. ❤️ The rooms were very neat and tidy. Great bedding and towels. Nice kitchen efficiency set up. We booked a room that did not have the interior steps. A beautiful, grand view of the river. Five minute walk on the water to local coffee and bagel shop called The Bean. Oriental, NC is not a fancy place. Small enough to become familiar with quickly and the locals were kind and chatty. This river front hotel is a real gem. The location could not be more perfect and the accommodations were clean, well appointed and comfortable. Sit in the Adirondack chairs on the front lawn and watch the sunset ! Walk to the bean coffee shop for a latte and meet the locals.

Great Experience, first time to Oriental NC and The Suites provided a great experience for lodging. Wonderful room, centrally located within walking distance to everything. It's refreshing to stay at a locally owned hotel. Stuwart does a great job.

There is no view of the marina. You can see the river though. You have beautiful, unobstructed views of the river from the front of the hotel. And apparently there are several marinas in the area. Hope that helps.
