Not kid friendly. My son is nonverbal autistic, in his own little world. Most calm kid you will ever know. They treated him like he wasn’t wanted from the get go. Direct TV didn’t work, no big deal but Carolina game was coming on and my dad wanted to see it. Owners actually ranted about how it took them two hours, like we were a bother. It was like we were a bother telling them and actually, it was like we were a bother the entire time. It was just me (30) my autistic son(4) and mom and dad. It was just going to be a quality week together. We’re beach people and never have been treated like we were here. Again, you don’t feel welcome and not kid friendly. Rooms need new tiles. Bathrooms had hairs, so I really don’t get why they were the way they were. We switched places for the last two days of our trip. Oh and met owners, that pretty much summed it up.

This was our second visit to Captain's Landing. This time in the Penthouse, which was very clean, well appointed, with three balconies. One of the biggest surprises was the fact that you have live music within a stone's throw and if you are in the unit, it is virtually sound proof. We enjoyed the music and the quiet, depending upon our mood. Although we ate out regularly, the kitchen is very well appointed. There were 5 of us and there was plenty of room to spread out. Our son, who got relegated to the sofa bed described the bed as comfortable as the typical sofa bed. Master bath was large with double sinks and large shower. We rented Kyaks (Ride the Wind) and could keep them on the dock which was very handy. It is also great to be in the middle of the 'downtown' area. You can walk everywhere. We rented a golf cart but didn't really use it all that much. The owner and staff were as welcoming as they were during our first visit. They are a wealth of information and very accommodating.

Stayed in Captain's Cottage at Captain's Landing June 2nd - 9th, our 9th vacation to Ocracoke and 6th at the Captain's Landing complex. All of our stays at The Landing have been in either the penthouse or the cottage. Captain's Cottage is a very casual, comfortable, homey 2 bedroom, 2 bath living space with full kitchen, living and dining area, and dockside private deck on Silver Lake Harbor. It also has a comfortable front porch and a Weber gas grill fork guests who want to grill their fresh seafood or burgers. We consider this the best location on Ocracoke, essentially being in the heart of the Village and harbor area. The quality of the service & hospitality from the staff is exceptional. The location offers unparalleled access to the harbor area, numerous shops and restaurants, and catch-of-the-day fresh seafood from the Ocracoke Working Watermen's facility 2 doors east. Very short walks yield access to the the Marina, several live music nightlife venues, and restaurants. We have consistently received 5-star service from the Captain's Landing owners and staff. We consider this our home on Ocracoke. I have attached some photos taken from Captain's Cottage.

We have been going there for the last 5 years and hospitality and service is fantastic. We see Ocracoke through Capitan's landing and the scene overlooking the lakes is absolutely amazing. Thank you all for making it another memorable trip for our family.

A fine place to stay. My wife and do every time we go to Ocracoke. Great view of Silver lake and great location in the main village. Also very knowledgeable and informative staff. We like to rent the available golf carts for touring around the island.
