Small B&B but clean and very responsive to requests. Pam makes a delicious breakfast that will hold you all day. The place is dog friendly with nice areas to walk dogs and within walking distance to most places! The common room is set with puzzles, maps and reading material.

This is a great choice if you want a BnB in Ocracoke. We stayed in the Zen Sunrise room on the second floor: two adults, one ten-year-old 80-lb golden retriever. Very clean and comfortable with a nice shared deck overlooking the entryway courtyard, which has a koi pond, a gazebo and other niceties. The occasional anole lizard would greet us on the deck. Pam is a warm and inviting host who makes a great breakfast. Not at all obtrusive, but just right in making suggestions on places to see on the island (the sound beach is a must for seafaring dogs, and we wouldn't have found it if she didn't suggest it). No unpleasant surprises. We found the room to be as advertised: not posh, but comfortable with an air conditioner designed and placed to beat NC humidity, a minifridge, and private full bath. Bed was very comfortable, and extra bedding if needed was also in the closet. The showerhead is unique (a conch shell), and a bit of a reflection of the quirkiness of the island itself. We could enter the room directly via a spiral staircase that connects the decks, but it was a little tight for the dog, so we used the side entrance and went through the interior stairs with him. There's also an outdoor shower for de-sanding. The extras were really useful considering that we were traveling in a sedan with a dog and limited space: beach chairs (3) were in our closet, and an ample supply of coaster bicycles for guest use are convenient. The location is fantastic: the NPS beaches start a short (~1/4 mile) bike ride or walk up 12, and South Point Rd starts right there. The sound side sites (sound beach, marina, Springer's Point) are a little further (~1/2 mile) in the opposite direction. Aside from camping, I don't think there's a closer place to stay when visiting Ocracoke's beaches. Right across the street is the general store which has just about everything you could need, from wine and beer to Ocracoke gear to personal care needs and food; prices are extremely reasonable. Golf cart rental is also across the street if you wanna go that way. Both Ocracoke Oyster Company and Howard's Pub had excellent seafood and Pam's Pelican is located right between them. Eduardo's Taco stand is also highly recommended, right across the street, next to the general store. If you want a relaxing private place to stay that's close to fantastic beaches, Pam's is a great choice.

We (family of 3) loved our stay at Pam's Pelican B&B!!! Pam was such a wonderful host!! She knew so much about the Island and had everything we needed home away from home! The hospitality she offered was amazing! Very accommodating, friendly and home like. Comfortable, clean and welcoming. The breakfasts that Pam provided were incredible!! The Island is full of beautiful beaches, incredible laid back and happy people, relaxing atmosphere and superior hospitality. It was a really delightful time and such an amazing place at the B&B and on the Island overall. Our stay was like being on cloud9, in an awe! Staying here was a breathtaking experience! The atmosphere was like being at home in a dream of wonderland! Thank You so much Pam for such a great stay and experience on Ocracoke island! We were very pleased with our stay hear. I even got to see the health inspector do her yearly check on the place and see a score/rating giving to Pam of a 100!!! This is a top of the list places to stay!! Thanks a million and one Pam!! We definitely will be back for another stay.
