Most National Park campgrounds have potable water fills and dump stations at their entrance, or inside the campground. The three Cape Hatteras campgrounds we visited decided to break with this pattern and place theirs at undisclosed locations, and not necessarily near the campgrounds. (Potable water is available from spigots throughout each campground, but I have been told those are not...

We went in shoulder season so our 3 night tent camping trip turned into an overnight because of the storms. We were also able to get a prime spot. We stayed at site D-1 which is directly behind the dunes with the beach on the other side. There was a fair amount of coverage provided by shrubs and these sites...

Rode my motorcycle down to spend the night in the beach. Great campground, quiet even with all the RVs ( they can't use generators on the loop instated at). Camp right in the dunes and head the surf from your tent. Restrooms were clean, but only cold water showers available but I didn't mind that, just shower she the suns...

My family took the ferry from Hatteras here on our way to Cedar Island. We arrived around 5pm, had dinner at a local seafood place, and drove back out of "town" to this beach park to pass the time until the last ferry left the island. The little downtown of Ocracoke is great for exploring by foot or golf cart....

Campground was well kept. Facilities were clean. Each site has a charcoal grill and picnic table and plenty of room for pop up canopy and tent. All site are close to a bathroom and bathhouse. No hot shower. Pet friendly almost every camper had a dog with them. All site are a close walk over the dunes to the beach....

We didn't have a reservation, the ranger told us to drive around, pick a spot & come back & tell her what we wanted. Most spots are right out in the open, but a few have a little privacy with small trees/bushes. Clean restrooms, cold showers. Great beach, not crowded & some good shells. Quiet hours start at 9 pm....

We stayed in D loop a short walk over the dunes to the beach. Fairly primitive campground but with paved pads. If you read the info in the NPS site, "D" Loop is supposed to be generator free but when we visited, there were a couple of generators running full time in D. Hot showers would have been appreciated.

Great location right along the dunes north of Ocracoke Village. Some of the sites afford some privacy and some back right up to the dunes with pathways to the lovely beach. The place was nearly deserted when I arrived soon after Hurricane Hermine on Labor Day; it's possible that I wouldn't have enjoyed myself quite so much if the place...

What a beautiful clean quiet camp ground. Located right on the beach, not far from town to restaurants. You can see a billion stars out at night and catch an early morning walk on the beach. The site was on green grass and cleared off nicely. There are great handicapped sites available too.

This is my favorite place to stay on Ocracoke, for few years. I have also stayed in hotel, but I'm more camper guy. You can bring RV, or trailer, plenty of space. Beach access is right here, but be aware of little flys, they biting hard. You have shower and restroom, what else do you need. Fire on the beach...
