What a beautiful clean quiet camp ground. Located right on the beach, not far from town to restaurants. You can see a billion stars out at night and catch an early morning walk on the beach. The site was on green grass and cleared off nicely. There are great handicapped sites available too.

This is my favorite place to stay on Ocracoke, for few years. I have also stayed in hotel, but I'm more camper guy. You can bring RV, or trailer, plenty of space. Beach access is right here, but be aware of little flys, they biting hard. You have shower and restroom, what else do you need. Fire on the beach... More

Our camping was cut short by a tropical storm. The selection of spots was great when we were there the first of June. I wish I could say more about bugs etc but we were only there one night. We were tent camping in a coleman sun dome with fiberglass poles. The winds were so strong there our tent couldn't... More

This is a review on the campground, not the bugs or heat or wind, things related to nature. As a tent camper there is no better place on Ocracoke but be ready to experience nature. A little planning makes your trip better. **The campground has the best proximity to the beach of any accommodations on the island; 300 yards from... More

We come here every year for the Memorial Day holiday weekend and love it! The beach is mellow and the crowds are always family friendly. There are no hook ups for RV's and the facilities are primative with cold water showers only. We don't mind though since we are self contained in our RV. Our favorite activities are swimming at... I stayed overnight in order to have more time to see Ocracoke Island and enjoyed my stay. The campground sites do NOT have electric or water hookups, but there is, of course, water fountains, showers, and bathrooms with electric located in each section. There are no stairs to get over the dunes to the beach, so be prepared to climb... More

Our experience with the Ocracoke Campground was a combination of the best and the worst times. Our campsite was beautiful, and we had a trail over the dunes from our tent right to the waves. We couldn't have asked for a better site. Unfortunately, though, we visited in July, and when all night long it was too hot to sleep.... More

One of my favorite NPS Campgrounds. It is situated right on the inside of the dunes and is very well maintained. The only downside is the sand fleas/sand flies/black bitey bugs. They come for you as soon as the winds die down. If you can avoid them its the best time!

Great campground with modern bathroom and basic shower facilities. It's so close to the beach, which is just beautiful! It's a great location for stargazing at night and I love falling asleep to the sound of the surf! Yes, the mosquitoes are vicious and can drill right through clothing, but we use plenty of spray on repellent and burn citronella... More

Had a great time camping with friends some of the clearest nights I've ever seen, location is the best part of this place & the sunrises are equally as good.. Just has basic essentials here it is just on the outskirts of town & a short drive into town can get yuo what you need.
