We stayed on the 2nd floor, oceanfront king room. Had a small sofa, coffee table, and chair. Desk area, wall mounted flat-screen TV, and plenty of charging ports. No gross carpet. Microwave and small refrigerator. New bathroom vanity and LED lighting. Nice chairs and a small table on the balcony. Our AC did leak a lot of water. We caught the water in the ice bucket, to keep from pooling on the balcony. I do have some concerns about the water causing structural damage to the cement on the balcony. Our room was clean. We requested towels but no housekeeping. The office staff was friendly and one afternoon shift lady, checked out our AC. It wasn't cooling properly, and she had it promptly replaced. Towels from housekeeping are hit or miss, but could always go to front desk for more. Location is perfect. A couple walkable restaurants and the pier very close. The pier has a good burgers and fries. They also serve breakfast. The beach is wide and uncrowded. The Inn had a large variety of breakfast items. Fresh fruit, breakfast sandwiches, cereal, waffles, bagels, peanut butter, jelly, bread, juice, yogurt and oat bars. Something for everyone. I would definitely stay here again. …
The location was perfect right on the beach. And it was a sweet place for my dog! Unfortunately the trek up 5 flights of stairs (2nd floor building 7) was tiring. But the bed was comfortable and the room clean except for the gigantic spider that crawled across the floor from under the bed. The pool and grounds were clean. The breakfast was average buffet style. The bathroom and frig area was tiny but the oceanfront access was worth it.
We loved the location and room was spacious and comfortable. Newly remodeled and it had a nice comfortable balcony over looking the ocean. Staff was friendly. Plenty of amenities and continental breakfast was free with room.
After trying to check in. I was told my wife had to be present since the reservations were in her name. After getting her to the lobby they still would not let us check in .They said they could not use credit card on file. After three trips to beach to get friends car keys we got the keys . They said it was too much money to not get card. $500 is not a lot
We made this reservation based on their website which showed a lovely little inn on the ocean. Nothing could be further from the truth, except the ocean part. The photos on the website had to be taken at least 10 years ago. The place is run down, dirty, shabby - it is a Motel 6 with waterfront rooms, and I am insulting Motel 6. There is rust everywhere, the hall carpets are filthy and the breakfast was pathetic. The room phone did not work, the indoor pool was unavailable (they said they put in on the website that they were renovating but they did not). We had a three night stay and left after two and lost our money. That's how bad it was. This place should be shut down by the Health Department as it is not fit for humans!
Office manager Ter____ has serious hangups! While a staff maintenance guy stood 2 feet behind her WITHOUT a mask, she required me -- a guest-- to pull my mask fully above my nose before simply handing me a keycard around Plexiglas. Yet the maintenance guy was breathing right on her. She has a horrible attitude; a very sad and incompetent person. Office lobby smelled like wet Chinese kitchen. A little flexibility in handling guests would go a long way in getting better reviews. I will be visiting this area often with family there, but never again stay at this place due to the office staff attitude.
My husband and I have been coming to Ocean Isle Beach for over 20 years and have stayed at this hotel numerous times throughout the years. It has a wonderful location with great ocean views. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately it has not been updated in some time. In general it is very shabby looking. The carpet in the hallways are badly stained and dirty looking. The walls are chipped and need paint. The room was clean, but the cloth furniture in our room was stained. I laid plastic bags on it so I could lay my belongings on it. The toilet lid was cracked and the metal shelves above it where bent and looked as if it was going to fall of the wall. The bedsheets were very thin. The air conditioning worked well but the room always felt damp. The door to our balcony was difficult to open and close and did not seem to lock. The breakfast room was pleasant and clean, but is quite small. I hope the owners follow through with plans to update and renovate.…
Ocean front room; balcony filthy with leaking AC. AC leaked on room floor also. No clock, some channels on TV didn't have sound. Tiki bar BLASTED music all day; could not talk to each other on balcony. Complained 4 times!! Only stopped when a child ALMOST DROWNED because no one could hear his screams for help!! Pool not cleaned for 3 days!! Trash left on deck around pool. Breakfast a joke. Pot holes in parking lot that could bend your rims! Never again, it stinks and is filthy. Sad, just sad. Phone books in room were 2015-2016!!!
The Hotel is in dire need of rehab.......rust and chipping paint throughout the facility. Large pot holes in the parking lot and at the exit driveway. Elevator in building two, super inconvenient to building seven. Luggage carts left outside and rusting. Although it is the responsibility of the pet owner to clean their pets waste ( most did not) ,the hotel made no effort to clean up grassy area on the right side of building 7. Old excess equipment under the building on way to the elevator should be moved. (Nasty Looking) Hotel should furnish a doggie station in that area. The bedding appeared to be extremely old . Kudos to the cleaning people who were effective and efficient.
This is a nice hotel right on the ocean. Rooms are clean and neat. Beds were good. Staff was friendly. Pool area and gazebo are nice and cozy. The breakfast is fine, they have waffle makers. Prices are reasonable, especially based on the location.
