its a very nice location to the lake, but it's a very old place, run down, the amenities are two, the pool is small and old and so is the pond. the bathrooms are from the 1950's or something, they have never been updated at all. there are not enough showers for the size of the camp, there were five. one bathhouse was out of service, there's a big hole in the ground behind it, they never fixed it. they have plumbing issues, reservation issues, and cable/ wifi issues on a regular basis. don't be surprised if you are double booked for a spot on the schedule when you are there, they will ask you to move during your vacation. three of our friends were asked to move their spot mid-stay, we had to move ours also. we got stuck under the wasp nests, the bugs and spiders own the place. the roads are terrible, no pavement anywhere. and when it rained, the roads had long holes washed out from water erosion. the trail in the woods is not maintained. watch your step oldies, this is not a handicap friendly place, not for my grandmother anyway, the hills are dangerous, i slipped on the rocks myself. watch out for small children and infants because there are no lights at night, and no real parking lot, so you have to walk around with a flashlight if your kids plan to be out after dark. at night we saw two wild dogs that ran around looking for food ,running through the whole place. there was mildew everywhere, and our picnic table was covered in mold. our friends stayed here for two months this summer too, and their spot was damaged by a fallen tree during a storm. a 70 foot tree fell on their stuff, damaged all three of the vehicles, and the staff was not helpful at all. there are a lot of maintenance issues on this property, we saw several trees fall down in the rain here. the cable was always out with snow on the tv, and the wifi was down or slow, but never fast enough. the kids playground was marked off and closed due to covid, but then they had a fourth of july party here, and nobody is wearing masks, and no one is spacing out, everyone is running around socializing. its like there is no pandemic going on and nobody cares. we didn't care for the young girl who runs the place in the front office, she lacked professionalism and was inconvenienced easily. the staff does the best they can it seems, we will not go back here.

First, you can tell the employees/fellow campers are trying to fix the place up. There are still quite a few abandoned trailer homes left on sites. The campground, in my opinion, is best for families with small young children. Besides the pond and pool there are not many activities that engage pre teens and teenagers. Our 14 year old daughter was bored most of the weekend. The woman working the front office was terribly distracted by a young child and it seemed as though customers were not a top priority. We will be back in summer and hoping to see a large improvement.

We stayed here for a weekend early october and enjoyed it. We had a few other campers around us which made for a fun weekend. Always nice to have the people next to you friendly, especially since some of the camp sites are right on top of each other. We enjoyed this campsite, it was close to Lake Tillery. We hiked Morrow Mountain state park for a few hours, and then came back to the campsite to chill out and relax. Some of the roads to the campsites are a little rough, but other than that its a nice little park. If I was in the area I wouldnt be against staying here again.

Let me start by saying check in was quick once the person got off the phone and was very polite. The escort to your site is a plus so you know exactly where you are going. The roads in park are gravel, some areas need attention from rain wash out. The turns can be very tight so if you have anything over 40 ft and maybe a trailer or towing something it will be hard or even impossible to do the turns. The overall site is nice, with onsite small fishing pond, pool, game room and outdoor activities center. Several outdoor games are provided. Just a friendly overall place, We will return.. Thanks to all.

Family group rented 7 sites and a cabin prepaid for 2 nights each, hounded from campsite to campsite from the afternoon on, told next morning had 1 hour to leave, no refunds for second night, total ripoff. Told music was offensive, johnny cash, hank williams, jr., told no talking and to go in our campers first night. My campsite was terrible, very small on a steep hill with big rocks, had to struggle against gravity any time I needed something from the car.

Response from Richard S, Manager at Norwood Campground
Responded May 14, 2018
I'm sorry that you had an unpleasant experience at our campground. Our family-friendly campground has rules created so that EVERYONE has a safe and pleasant camping experience. We have large groups camp with us often who enjoy themselves without disturbing the campers around them. Our rules are handed out during check-in and clearly state that "Anyone causing a disturbance will be asked to leave" and "You will be asked to leave for noncompliance of any of the rules". As for the sites, we love that our campground is situated in the middle of Morgan Mountain; it allows for beautiful and peaceful scenery that our guests enjoy. However, it does also mean that our sites are on the side of a mountain. They are as level as they can possibly be. For the convenience of our guests, we have photographs of each site on our online reservation system where you can see the sites and pick your preference as you reserve them: https://www.reserveamerica.com/camping/norwood-campground/r/facilityDetails.do?contractCode=PRCG&parkId=1067750
