This was such a relaxing and nice place to stay. Convenient to downtown. Could easily walk to shops and restaurants. Owners were very nice and thoughtful and provided a wonderful breakfast. Would definitely stay there again!

We’re Californians looking to transplant to New Bern and we were so happy that the first New Bernians we met were Craig and Denise at their awesome B&B. On a 1 to 10 nice people scale, they are – well you need a different scale for them. The home was built in 1805. If you’re interested in seeing how homes... More

What a wonderful weekend! We spent my birthday weekend at the Captain's Stay in New Bern and were delighted with the experience. Every detail was perfect, from the surprise flowers in our room to the birthday candle on my morning muffin. The house itself is warm and comfortable, and the innkeepers, Denise and Craig, could not be more accommodating. The... More

Every year my mother and I go away on a Girls Getaway trip to somewhere different. This is the first year that we agree we'd like to go back to the same location the next year and that is in large part due to our wonderful time at the Captain's Stay! Craig and Denise are new owners but you would... More

When U first walk in U feel like U r in a fun house. I understand this place is old but the floors go every which way. Really off putting. Squeezed three of us in a 2 twin bed room. I understand they were booked that weekend even though we only seen one other person and the other rooms remained... More

The B&B was adorable and very clean. We stayed in the Master room. Great location - could walk to anywhere we wanted to go. The owners were friendly and the breakfast was good, too. A very comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend.

We spent the night of April 30th in the Crow's Nest Cabin behind the main house. It was just as quaint and cozy as could be. The layout and decor of the cabin is so charming, you immediately feel at home. Very modern and spotless bathroom. Two very comfy beds and they had these very soft and cuddly fleece mini-blankets,... Walking distance to town and right down the block from Tryon Palace, in the historic area of New Bern is this sweet little B&B. The rooms are well appointed and clean with modern amenities but in in an old 1800's home. Pretty furnishings and interesting lttle alcoves with sitting areas makes this a quaint place to stay. New owners, only... More

My husband and I went here to celebrate his sister's bday. We rented the Nautical and Twin Rivers rooms. Everything was just perfect. The new owners Craig and Denise were awesome.....from the great breakfasts to the snacks. They even made us sandwiches to take on our Tug Boat Cruise up the Trent River. They made us feel right at home... More
