The Innkeepers at Marshall House Inn have thought of everything anyone could possibly need for an intimate and luxurious stay. Beautiful linen sheets and thick sweet smelling towels. My room had everything I needed down to qtips and a hair dryer. Each room and area in this historic home has been lovingly decorated and curated with fine art, sculpture and whimsy. The view of the lovely, slow paced town of Marshall is just the cherry on top for this magical Inn. I highly recommend this quiet and beautiful place.
This spot is right in town so shopping and dining are steps away. But the town (pop. 700) is so small and peaceful that it feels like being in the country, especially with the birds singing outside the window. Our hosts, John and Kerstin, were very helpful and accommodating, aiding us making hiking plans and finding local music. We were supposed to depart on a Thursday but our flight was cancelled. We decided to stay through the weekend because we were having such a great time.
We spent four nights at the inn in March. I highly recommend Room 3! Wonderfully appointed with plenty of room and a view of the town from five windows. We loved relaxing on the verandah on a warm day. It’s an easy drive to Asheville and surrounding areas. The owners are attentive without being intrusive. This is a terrific home base for a mountain getaway.
What a wonderful discovery! Our room was beautiful. The view was excellent. It was quiet. There was an extensive and delightful selection of food, drinks, and snacks. Everything about the place is high-quality and an incredible value.
Our room had a wonderful bed, the shower was hearty, and the local roast coffee and simple but nutritious breakfast were all perfect. The view out the window of the river and town was great. Only issue was the heater in the room - a tricky digital adjustment that we could not master on a cold night. Of our whole trip, including an inn in Savannah, this was our favorite place to stay. Enjoy!
Accommodations were immaculate. in room fridge. kitchen/eating area filled with all kinds of goodies! Quiet, well maintained and spotless! We will be back!!! Wonderful view of the town and the French Broad River right out the window of our room (room #3).
We got priced out of Asheville and stumbled across this gem 25 minutes away. I am not a B&B guy, preferring my “own space”, but this was our favorite accommodation of our trip. Rooms are quaint but functional and although there are four rooms in the inn, it felt more like the privacy you would have in a hotel. There is a common area for do-it-yourself breakfast but we usually took our food back to our room. Hosts were friendly and communicated well prior to our visit but also were not overly “invasive”. Setting is great and we loved the friendly town of Marshall. Try Mad Co. Brewing for a reasonably priced beer and a pizza. Would whole-heartedly recommend the Inn!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this historic B&B! John was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast choices were very good and the fact that many were locally sourced made the stay all the more memorable!! Definitely recommend you stay here as well!
Wonderful building and nicely appointed room. View was GORGEOUS! Overlooking downtown Marshall and the river that runs through town. Owner was very nice and accommodating. Individual AC in the room needed to be adjusted. I think it would be a challenge to keep the room cool in heat of summer with single pane glass windows but that’s part and parcel of a historic home with character. We will definitely be returning - greatly exceeded expectations.
The Inn is very welcoming. Our rooms were good size and very clean. We stayed 1 night with our Grandchildren and booked 2 rooms. We enjoyed the large front porch and there was a perfect table for us to play some board games. Wonderful location to walk to walk to restaurants in Marshall.
