Detailed Reviews
Room was very clean. No frills motel that is a bit dated but convenient. Loud road noise to be expected. Reasons why I rated the motel a 3 is for two reasons. First, the beds are ROCK HARD. Now I was in the military and have slept on hard beds before but these are the hardest I’ve slept on since then. Both my wife and I had a really hard time sleeping. Second, the bathroom. When showering the water kept going from hot to cold and back. But the worst thing was that my wife flushed the toilet while I was showering and the shower went to FULL HOT while the tank was refilling. Very dangerous situation. I would probably look elsewhere if staying in the area.

The staff we met was cordial and accommodating. Ok room. Bed very uncomfortable with flat pillows. Very noisy since it is right on the main road in Maggie Valley. Seems to cater to car clubs and motorcycle groups. A gathering of a car club members in the pavilion was a bit noisy watching the football game and we were actually 2-3 rooms from the pavilion. It was nice to have chairs on the front to sit in and look at the mountains and we enjoyed the fire pit one evening. As we were packing up to leave after 2 nights stay I was rewarded to find a couple of roaches in the open closet. GROSS. We chose this place because of a facebook page and it is a 'mom & pop style motel. Was disappointed in landscape, it had a bit of unkept look especially since this is high tourist season for leaf watchers, uncomfortable bed and high noise level. We did enjoy being in this area and visiting Cataloochee for wildlife viewing but will have to look elsewhere for comfortable stay.

This road side motel is located near both Maggie Valley and Waynesville. While it is dated, it is very clean. The rooms are not large but they are comfortable. The rooms have AC, microwave, and refrigerator. The furniture is nothing fancy, but all serviceable. They do have a pool, but we did not use it. Just as a caution, it is very close to a busy major road used by cars, trucks and motorcycles. If you are looking for a good center point to see and do things in the Maggie/Waynesville area at a reasonable price, the Laurel Inn is for you

Absolutely won't be back. Charged us a 100 dollar deposit (we are locals over age 30, 2 adults) and said "if there are any stains no deposit refund" they didn't say even typical stains that wash out with normal bleach in a normal wash cycle!! Pics included and I used some towels to clean up a drink spill mess, but the bloody looking stains on the sheets weren't from us and if we had noticed stains such as those we certainly wouldn't have slept on the sheets, and if we had seen that when we woke up we would have been looking for what caused the stains and we didn't have any such marks to make blood... so probably the bedsheets photos were used to bolster their b.s. refund claim.. I asked if we could pay for a new sheet set and towels and then have the price deducted from our deposit (obviously not 100 dollars) and was told no once again. Very unprofessional to scam us because we used towels for a drink spill and you apparently don't wash your whites with bleach.. ew!

Excellent value for the money! Located 40 minutes from the entrance to the Great Smokey national park, this motel has everything that a chain motel would have: microwave, coffee, maker, shower massage shower head (!); refrigerator is typical of a small one. The staff is courteous and friendly, and there’s even a continental breakfast of wrapped pastries! Only drawback is the road noise but this quiets down in the evening. It’s a perfect base for exploring the park. ask for a recently renovated room.

Terrible new management. Walk across the street to Valley Inn. It's worth it. The lady is a terrible person that manages this place. She was yelling at me and rude. I beg you not to give her your business because you will regret it.

Upon arrival my first impression was very uncomfortable. The place is less than 100 feet from the busy road. The entrance to check-in was not clearly identified. There were toys, chairs, trash and a general appearance of a backyard rather than a business. There was nothing clean, warm or inviting to the entrance or the office. The office too was a mess. I asked to see the room. Very sparse.! I told the front desk (?) person to cancel my reservation; that I would not stay. She questioned my decision.

My wife goes in to see about rates for one nights stay and comes back to the car to tell me,while we were sitting there, I was checking my bank account on line and my wife was just on fb. The guy from the front desk comes out and ask can he help us,my wife told him we were checking rates and he tells us with bad alcohol smells coming from his breath that we needed to move on. I was prepared to go in and get a room but after he acted like that we went across the street and got a room. The rates were the same but the people were a lot more pleasant .

Checked in. No issues. Room not great but ok for the price. Friend comes over at 5pm to get ready to go to a wedding with us. Mrs Patel goes crazy and says she is calling the police because we are violating "the rules" Starts yelling and threatens to call the police. No such rules prohibiting visitors posted.
According to the locals she has quite the reputation and stays glued to her comprehensive video system day and night. While we were there she went off on another family who were traveling in two vehicles and thus used two parking spaces. Once again there is nothing posted anywhere about the place only allowing a single vehicle per room.
Avoid this place
