Our family was in an emergency situation when our scheduled rental was double booked nearby. With 4 crying kids and melting ice cream and a weeks worth of groceries in the car the Lynn and Regina immediately took us in, made us feel right at home, and within minutes my children were delightedly playing in the creek and our groceries were saved. The atmosphere takes you back in time to simpler days with friendly folk. It’s quaint and idyllic location are lovely but the true icing on the cake is the hospitality that will greet you the moment you step foot on the property. Maggie Valley is a delightful little town to visit as well. Lynn and Regina take complete delight in making your stay as comfortable as possible- don’t miss this hidden time capsule that will help all the craziness of America fade for a few days.…
This is an older motel, hidden and easy to drive by. We were looking for a dog friendly hotel, not many available in Maggie Valley. This place was very welcoming. It is older and a little outdated. However, it was clean, homey, and very comfortable. We slept so well! Very quiet. It is next door to a car/motorcycle museum. There were a few motorcycles here. Never heard any of them, or people in the rooms next to us. Great breakfast spots within walking distance. Cute grounds with lots of swings, hammocks, a deck on the creek. Lots of mallards. Would stay again.
Says its dog friendly and after our dog was crying to go outside at 3 am, we had someone banging on our door at 4am, waking up me and my 6 year old. There is a wierdo guy with a beard that lives there squatting in one of the rooms walking around all hours of the night peeking in windows, carrying alcohol and started trouble with us the next morning, walking right up to our dog, and when our dog wanted to play, he yelled at us to control our dog, we told him we were sorry, and said he'd handle the problem and said he was going to get a gun. So we called the police to keep us safe while we checked out. The manager denied banging on our door then his little sidekick stated it was 230 am. so he lied. this is a tiny outdated squatters hippy haven. Rude, nosey management, little hot water, dirty pans in the community kitchen that had to be washed before using…
A little piece of heaven hidden away in the middle of all the hubbub. Clean, quiet, affordable and perfect! Jake, the manager, is so genuinely kind and helpful. It has everything you need, and more! Sitting by the brook on the porch of the community cottage was so refreshing and relaxing. Rooms were so clean. It's not the Ritz - it's not meant to be, but it meets your basic needs. But if you want a comfortable, clean, friendly and over-the-top relaxing stay, this is it!
We had tried a few motels on the way into Maggie Valley and most had no vacancies, we tried another where the desk clerk decided to get creative with the room rates. I'm glad this happened, as we found this gem to stay at. We didn't arrive til about 11.30 and were made immediately welcome and told about the facilities. A great sleep and chance to enjoy the rustic old school charm sitting on rocking chairs by the Brook. Only regret - we only stayed 1 night. We plan to return.
