Our first time visiting here. We booked a 2 bed queen room and my son got a king room with a creek balcony and a hot tub. I was jealous when I seen their view from the balcony. The sound of the creek is so relaxing. I loved it here it was our first family trip with our 1 year old granddaughter. We loved the pool it is heated not as heated as some I have been in but enough that you are not cold sitting in it. Everyone was extremely friendly. I will say sadly the restaurants in this town are very under staffed and with that many are not open on certain days and the days they are it’s a very long wait. The views here are outstanding. Only down side I had was our room stayed pretty warm the air only came on about once a hour and we had it on high cool and as cold as it could get. I didn’t have to sleep with any cover or sheets just my gown that’s how warm I was in it. We didn’t complain to the office but I’m sure if we would have they would have been on it. The office hours are not like many other hotels they do close at 9 and I think open at 8 or 8:30 we was gone all day so left our dirty linens outside the room and trash came back that night new towels and everything hanging on the door. Pool says open till 9 but their was people out there till after 11 so I guess they didn’t mind you going over the pool time which is nice. We was able to make a bonfire by the creek and do marshmallows and listen to the creek it was wonderful. I do plan on coming back a little bit more into fall. The rooms was very clean it was all great I couldn’t be happier about our stay.

I have stayed at Maggie Valley Creekside Lodge for at least 7 times. Have NEVER been disappointed. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. My last visit was in September 2023, and I will be headed that way again this September. Have never had any problems, and I know IF there was ever any, it would be taken care of immediately. This is a family-owned lodge, and they treat you like family. I always reserve a second-floor room overlooking Jonathan Creek - it's a beautiful running babbling brook!! Each room located by the creek has two rocking chairs for you to sit and enjoy the nature God has given that area. I highly recommend staying at Maggie Valley Creekside Lodge! And when you do, make sure you stop to say hello to Gracie, such a beautiful friendly dog.

Checked into three rooms with our party in less than 10 minutes!!! Staff VERY friendly! Rooms appeared to be recently remodeled and were very clean! Provided with more than enough toiletries and towels. Cute little ashtray pots were provided for each room for smokers. Will definitely stay here again!!!

Clean and comfortable room. We were up stairs, which was hard lugging stuff up and down. Our room had a private balcony over looking the creek, and table and chairs which was very nice. Parking lot can be tight at times and the door locks were worn and need oil or replaced. Staff was friendly and prompt. I think your experience here is very much room type and location dependent. Our friends had a 1st floor room, but there is no privacy when on the creek side of your room. I would recommend a 1st floor room with a private porch. If steps bother you and 1st floor not available, then I would pass on this property.

We went with our HOG club and had about 15 rooms. We had the creekside room and really enjoyed our stay. They supply fire for the fire pits, yes there are more than one. Lots of outdoor seating by the creek and they even have grills if you want to grill. The ladies in the office are super nice and helpful. Thank you so much Carol for all of your help. And a huge shout out to Grace, the 4 legged mascot. She was so precious and loves belly rubs. Since we would have a drink after a day of riding we needed places to eat in walking distance and there are several that were really good!! Don't hesitate to book this place

Was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Very clean and we had a room with a balcony overlooking the creek which was flowing really fast due to the recent rain. We slept with the window open and enjoyed hearing it run. The bed ed was comfortable and room was spacious for a small mountain hotel. The owner was very pleasant and the hotel is biker freindly. Will stay again.

...at least not to these folks. Sure, the motel itself and the rooms were spiffy, very well maintained, sure the owners were excellent (patient, forgiving) hosts, sure the rates were great, yeah every direction you turn you are on beautiful riding roads, but the little things they included at no charge were kind of...touching.

Free firewood for the fire pits. Cups of detergent provided for free, for the free washing machines. a REAL coffee pot, not one of those useless one-cup-at-a-time teaser coffee-pot-wanna-be's...

These small things said that the management/ownership was glad we were there, that we were welcome, that we should feel at home.

Don't let the urban (or as urban as Maggie Valley gets) locale throw you off...when you walk back onto that porch creekside, you are in Mountain Heaven.

How many stars for the Creekside Lodge?

All of 'em, that's how many.

We came with 7 other people and stayed in 4 different rooms. The room we stayed in had a bug in the bed the first night and cob webs in the bathroom. The second night there was bug on the wall and one on the floor and the TV didn't workThe jacuzzi looked like it was never cleaned or sanitized.

Response from AnnMaggieValley, Owner at Maggie Valley Creekside Lodge
Responded May 5, 2015
Dear Guest, It's always a little disturbing to us in the hospitality industry when guests would rather use social media after their stay to voice concerns rather than bringing them to the attention of property management for immediate resolution. TripAdvisor if you will permit me the space necessary, I want to do something with my tongue firmly planted in my cheek. Now what that means is what I'm about to share is rather humorous, but it is not seriously intended, and it should not be taken at face value. What follows are 8 building blocks on how you can have a perfectly miserable mini-vacation. 1. First of all, Dwell on your troubles. Other people have things that go wrong, but your troubles are yours. Property Management cannot offer a resolution to a concern if it is not brought to their attention. 2. Second, Develop Hypersensitivity. Constantly on the lookout for slights. Don't tell people what your needs are or what is going on in your accommodations. Expect them to find out through social media. 3. Third, Nourish the grievances in your heart. When someone wrongs you, don't forgive. Don't let go of it. Use these offenses as excuses for social media acts of retribution. Get even. Instead of immediate resolution by property management. 4. Fourth, Avoid Responsibilities. Refuse your opportunity and responsibility to report concerns immediately to property management. Hiding behind a "tag name" on social media is an appropriate response for you. 5. Fifth, Become critical of everyone and everything. Have an opinion on everything. See the flaws in everything. And when you find something that you don't like, make sure everyone in the world knows about it through social media. Instead of immediate response from property management. 6. Sixth, Insist on your rights. Don't worry about the rights of others. Treat everyone with suspicion. They deserve to be walked on. But don't you dare let property management know about your concerns. 7. Seventh, Spend your money on yourself. It's yours! Your worked hard for it. Property Management is here to assist you with your concerns and remedy the issue. 8. Finally, Don't take motel property management too seriously. It is unrealistic to expect them to correct accommodation issues as they most assuredly will. Now, if you will keep these eight simple rules faithfully during your future travels, I guarantee that you will be perfectly miserable. And not only will you be miserable, you will make others miserable as well. Good luck. You are going to need it! With that said, we are very proud property owners and strive to offer our guests clean affordable accommodations in a pleasant environment. We have been closed for six weeks. This was our first weekend open for business. During that period of time we were on vacation, rooms were thoroughly deep cleaned, repairs made and upgrades occurred to our property. We are still in the process of completing property upgrades. Charter Spectrum provides our cable, internet and telephone service. On Saturday evening service was interrupted in the Western North Carolina and Update South Carolina areas. That was totally out of our control. As guests were calling and stopping by the office to let us know their TV's were not working we were telling them of the outage. As of today, Charter still has not reported what happened. Local media has not been able to get a response to the massive cable outage. However, a group called "Lizard Squad" tweeted they were responsible for causing the Charter outage. Their response read: "Looks like we hit the cable companies harder than we thought LOL, oops". What happened still is unclear. A Charter representative said they're still looking into the matter. Now, Isn't this way too much information to share here after the fact. We thank you for visiting the Maggie Valley area. It's beautiful here in the Smoky Mountains. We hope that your stay with us does not deter you from visiting the area on a future visit. We have a return guest rate of 80% and are extremely proud of that. We would like for you to give us a call at 800-621-1260 to discuss your stay with us. Best Regards, Carol Burrell Host

We stayed two nights and I am still puzzled at the rave ratings that led us to book here. There was nothing disastrous about it, but this is a very dated motel-type accommodation with a tiny bathroom, thin carpet, worn bedspreads and 70s furnishings. The long rectangular heat and AC unit (not central) was beneath the window and ran 24hrs, so the room curtain above it always was lifted a foot or two. Our door had a 1/2" space at the lower side of it that let in light and cold air. The mattresses were soft and felt that they were somewhat old and in need of replacement.
On the plus side, the room itself was a good size, and a back door led to a little porch facing the creek, though it was too chilly to sit out in the shade. The location is good on the main road close to restaurants, but set back enough to avoid highway noise. The TV was modern with cable included. It was convenient to park right in front of our unit.
To sum up, it was adequate but old-fashioned -not in a good, charming way - and I'd try another place next time.
