Fun time for adults and kids, horses were well mannered and our guide was fun and knowlegeable. It was the highlight of our trip to go for 3 hours and then have lunch at the ranch lodge. Be sure to bring enough jackets, hats and gloves if in October or November, as it is mighty cool on the mountain.

You too will catch the fever as you experience the beauty of the mountains. Wake up early to see the sun crest over the mountains and the mist hovering in the valley. If you hike or ride a horse to the top, you can absorb the peacefulness as the only sounds are the rustle of the leaves. A great opportunity...

We gathered for the Eighth Annual Bladder Cancer Survivors meeting & picnic at the Cataloochee Ranch. There were about 40 or more people, including not only Survivors, but Caregivers as well. We had a meet & greet on the pavilion, Friday evening and the actual meetings & picnic were today (Saturday, 9/17/2016). After a large group discussion, we had lunch,...

We have been going here for 8 years. We count down the days when we are able to return and it seems to go by so fast when we are there. Make sure you have your camera (not cell phone because you don't get a good signal and this is your opportunity to unplug from technology) because the sunset is...

What a wonderful morning it was! I called the ranch the afternoon before and made a reservation for the 0930am ride, the person on the phone was very pleasant, took my basic info and informed me that there would be 2 more persons joining me on the ride. I arrived around 0900am and checked in at the front office of...

We did the "short ride" ( 1 1/2 hrs) and it was just our family and our guide Laura. Beautiful scenery and well trained horses! It was my kids first time riding and they loved it! We even got to trot twice! Would love to go back and stay at the ranch as fhe grounds were beautiful!

We were invited to join two other couples who were going to be in Maggie Valley for a long weekend to dinner on a Thursday evening. None of us were staying at the ranch so we met for hor sources which consisted of limited raw veggies and dip. The dinner was served family style with two meats baked chicken and...

We did not stay at the ranch, but visited for the day to go horseback riding. It was an exhilarating time to say the least! We were first timers staying in Maggie Valley for a long vacation and horseback riding was on our "bucket list". The staff was extremely professional, from the basics of riding a horse, to going on...

Spent one glorious day and evening at the Cataloochee Ranch. Felt at home from the beginning with friendly greetings. Our room was in the main house with a back door and window overlooking the mountain valley. The room was rustic but very comfortable. The bathroom had nice toiletries. A hair dryer would be a nice addition. The bed was a...

When we were throwing around ideas on where to get married, being from Florida, but having family in Maggie Valley, we wanted to return to our spot year after year so the Cataloochee Ranch was the spot. Billy Smith and the staff couldn't have been more friendly, accommodating, and helpful to make our special weekend that much more special. The...
