We did the "short ride" ( 1 1/2 hrs) and it was just our family and our guide Laura. Beautiful scenery and well trained horses! It was my kids first time riding and they loved it! We even got to trot twice! Would love to go back and stay at the ranch as fhe grounds were beautiful!

We were invited to join two other couples who were going to be in Maggie Valley for a long weekend to dinner on a Thursday evening. None of us were staying at the ranch so we met for hor sources which consisted of limited raw veggies and dip. The dinner was served family style with two meats baked chicken and... More

We did not stay at the ranch, but visited for the day to go horseback riding. It was an exhilarating time to say the least! We were first timers staying in Maggie Valley for a long vacation and horseback riding was on our "bucket list". The staff was extremely professional, from the basics of riding a horse, to going on... More

Spent one glorious day and evening at the Cataloochee Ranch. Felt at home from the beginning with friendly greetings. Our room was in the main house with a back door and window overlooking the mountain valley. The room was rustic but very comfortable. The bathroom had nice toiletries. A hair dryer would be a nice addition. The bed was a... More

When we were throwing around ideas on where to get married, being from Florida, but having family in Maggie Valley, we wanted to return to our spot year after year so the Cataloochee Ranch was the spot. Billy Smith and the staff couldn't have been more friendly, accommodating, and helpful to make our special weekend that much more special. The... More

We were passing through the area and scouting locations for future trips. Enjoyed our visit to Cataloochee Ranch and will make plans for a visit in future. Beautiful views, gourmet food, lovely accommodation and a rich history. Well done!

We live in western North Carolina, so we did not need to avail ourselves of the apparently fine lodging at the Ranch that includes both lodge rooms and cabins. However, we had heard good things from friends about the dining experience, so we decided to give it a try. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and we were there for... More

This quaint, quiet little resort offers amazing views of the Smoky Mountains. My family and I enjoyed the horseback riding and dining. This is a great little ranch if you're looking to get away from it all and just have family time.

We have rented 5-6 cabins every year for 13 years at Cataloochee Guest Ranch for 3-4 nights at a time over Memorial Day Weekend (16-20 people every year) and we look forward to returning after our time ends each year - we have already booked Memorial Day Weekend again for 2017. We have seen our children grow up and mature... More

If there is a prettier place than Cataloochee Ranch only three hours from home, I don't know where it is. The cool breezes, stunning mountain views, lovely cabin accommodations and delicious food were just the beginning of our great vacation. Lots of hiking trails with wildflowers galore and a waterfall here and there, two horseback rides a day (for even... More
