The is absolutely the worst place we have ever stayed in Maggie. Several years ago, it was fairly nice. Things have changed. We had just settled in when the door opened and a lady just walked in, no knock, no hello, nothing. She said she was here to treat the smell from the air conditioner unit. Weird. Then my wife noticed ---no towels. I had to run and get them. Next morning I developed a rash on my arms and back. It must have been something in the bedding. When we went to take showers, there was NO shower curtain. I called down to the desk and told the lady. She says, I cannot leave the desk, so don't worry about it. I explained it would saturate the tile floor with water. She says, "we can clean it up." After noticing how slick the floor was with 1/2 inch of water on it, I went a got a shower curtain and put it up myself. We left the room around 10:30 AM, taking off the "do not disturb" sign. We returned at 5'ish to find the room had not been cleaned. It was just as we left it. AND we only had one more towel. They also claim to have a free breakfast. That consist of coffee, water, apple, orange and apple pomegranate juice. I made the mistake of trying the orange juice which was fermented. YUCK. A chair in the room had a big spot on the seat as if someone had pee'd on it. The place has really gone down hill with little attention to maintenance. Ramada Maggie is awful. These people need to find another occupation. They have no business running a hotel.…
The rooms were clean and the shower pressure was great. Kids loved the pool, but forworn it isn't too big. So we just let the kids have fun. Location was great, right in the middle of maggie valley. We stayed creekside, definitely would recommend. The sound of the creek was so relaxing.
When we enter the room smell horrible like the carpet was old and wet . This hotel needs an update, I stayed here 5 years ago and was good. The balcony door was broken , the bathroom was old and had some broken things in the shower. The furniture had a unpleasant drawings mans part in the bed ( my kids saw that). It was a busy weekend we could not change hotel. No breakfast, in the commercial said they had breakfast available. Power went out and you will think hotels had generators, this one does not. We was without power 6-11pm. Area all the restaurant are pack it was an hour wait to get food or drive 30 min. Horrible stay
We booked for 2 nights, 4 adults and 1 child. First check-in was easy... no one wore a mask although NC is under a mask order. Clerk was behind a plastic barrier but coworker was not. We got to the room and immediately there is a stale odor, the rug was not sealed to the floor in several places. There were 3 sets of bath sets... when asked for more, the housekeeper wanted the used towels, well we didn't have used towels we had just arrived. Beds were not queen size..ugh full at best. The sliding door lock is broken to access the balcony... hard to open. The exterior door closed but did not lock and gave easy access (without an active room key) to the 1st & 2 floor rooms. Saturday evening, the lights in maggie valley went out (not their fault right). The emergency lights in the stairwell or hallway did not come on if they have them installed. I have night blindness and when I mentioned to the clerk about the emergency lights, she laughed which added salt to the wound. We had to use cell phone lights to get up stairs and get to our room in a pitch dark hallway and flight of stairs. When we checked in, there was a half roll of tissue on the roll. With 5 people, that went pretty fast. We had to go ask for a roll of tissue later that evening, sounds petty but tissue should be accessible and we ran out Sunday and despite asking for some it never arrived to the room. When leaving the parking lot, an overgrown hedge blocked the view and made you pull out into traffic before having a clear sight; it needed to be trimmed. Not recommended and although I have stayed here several times previously I am done. …
Checked in and was given a room on 2nd floor with one small window that had a view of the roof of the office. Asked for a room with a balcony. Desk clerk had to call his manger, who was offsite. He handed me the phone and the manager informed me it would be an additional $12/night. I agreed and he asked to speak to the clerk again. After several attempts at doing something on the computer and many exclamations in a foreign language, the clerk hung up the phone and told me the manager would be there in a few minutes. After 5 minutes I told him to just cancel my reservation and I would go somewhere else. He said he did not know how and I would have to wait on the manger. After waiting in the hot lobby for almost 10 minutes, the manager showed up and when I told him to just cancel the reservation he informed me that since there was a 24 hour cancellation period I would be charged one night, which they did. The hotel is older and needs updating. The whole place has a smell like someone has been cooking something strong and the smell has permeated the place. My advice is to stay anywhere but here.…
