We stayed here when traveling from Florida to Maine. We chose it because it was rated as clean (important during the COVID pandemic) and because it was pet friendly. I specifically asked how they ensure cleanliness due to the virus and was assured that they disinfect rooms nightly. That seems doubtful, because when pulling back one of the queen beds there was hair and dirt on the sheets. We barely slept because the room above us had people who moved around all through the night and we heard their footfalls thudding loudly through the ceiling. We asked for a non smoking room, but smoking rooms were 2 doors away so we could smell the smoke. The shower head was incorrectly attached and sprayed water all over the bathroom, creating puddles on the floor. I brought this to the attention of the front desk person the next morning and nothing was done to address our concerns. We don’t expect much for a quick overnight stay, but this was not acceptable. This hotel was more expensive than other budget options but not as good.

I was sooo surprised at how clean and awesome the rooms were especially because we booked smoking rooms. The service from the front desk door manager with his cute little puppies to all the maids and maintenance workers... Everyone was just happy and I felt really comfortable around them. I will be staying there again soon!

Have stayed here 4 times & this stay last night (2/27/2020) will be the last. The FIRST room we checked in to was dirty. Could see dust/dirt on flooring. The baseboards were dirty & had accumulated dust balls type dirt right from door through room to closet. Closet has not been opened & cleaned for a long time. There was a cigarette burn hole in the center of the ottomon in this non-smoming room. Overall the bathroom seemed clean - sparkled. Although, the tub has tub surround water issues. Oh, used juice bottle in one garbage pail. Noticed black dirt spot on bedspread then ink spot too. Decided to pull back bedding to check bed and there was a long black hair. We were out of there and back to front desk. They offered another room on the SECOND floor and let us check it out before making decision. Rooms were like night & day as far as cleanliness although this room had a ratty old sitting chair. We thought, okay. The girl/owner apologized several times. She said they are renovating slowly & will be taking out dressers for other options with renovation. Hadn't even noticed dresser other than tops of furniture, that does not have marble on it, is all scratched up from wear. So, we stay & go get dinner. Well, a new adventure and we were too tired to pack again & drive 2 exits BACK for another accommodation. NOW... TV screen had a white line down it which split the picture. Further, the bath mat was dirty (hopefully stained) with black marks and a washcloth had lipstick stain that seemed fresh. Needless to say we did not use those towels. Instead lined the floor with them to walk on w/socks on and called for new. Overlooked the dresser as she brought my attention to it's dilapidated condition. When shutting the curtains, could see pin holes of wear in curtains. The towels & curtains were it again for us. I called the front desk. This time I get an attitude that I am nitpicking. OMG! Was not going to write a review & just let it go and never stay again. Thought it would be helpful for them to know about the curtains. They seemingly are nice people - friendly - accommodating. But that comment & here it is, the review.

Had our 2019 family reunion in Lumberton, NC for labor day weekend. We only needed a room for 10 hours and was looking for a decent motel at a good price that was clean and we found the Atkinson Inn and Suites and decided to try it. Glad we did. The staff and room was good and clean and you can walk to the Waffle House, store/gas and Hardee. It is right at 95 S and N, easy access back on highway. I forgot, they offer free breakfast too.

From super comfortable beds, soft towels, to powerful hot shower, upgraded natural stone surfaces, beautiful bathroom fixtures, meticulously kept floors (no carpets!) these rooms were almost identical to the ones in DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront where we were headed after that - but at a fraction of the price!! This was truly a great find. The owners are very friendly. You might even get to meet some of their adorable pets.
