We had evacuated Beaufort, SC because of hurricane Matthew. We stopped at two hotels near Ashville but they were gouging people with their prices. A hotel near Mt. Mitchell, which we knew from a past trip to the area, was full but told us about this place. We were lucky to get it as it filled up a few minutes...

The Alpine lets us go back to a simpler time where books and views replace tv and rush hour traffic.Sunsets go on for ever and everyone is friendly.Ron and Susan have made this happen. They are the best.Helpful hint to newcomers-always take breakfast on the porch.

Been coming here for 20+ years. Always makes me hate to leave. Turn your stupid phone off and you recharge. The quite is blisful. The views wonderful. If you need to be entertained and love multitasking even on your time off you need this but may feel a little underwhelmed.

Ron and Susan always make it special visit. They are great hosts and always friendly. The views are wonderful and it is conveniently located off the parkway and half way between Asheville and Blowing Rock.

We arrived in a thick fog. We met Ron and Susan who were super accommodating and nice. They were in the middle of making dinner and made time to show us a room. Quaint little Swiss style hotel room with an AMAZING view of the mountains. I highly recommend

You got to like 1929 style. Small room, no amenities, fantastic mountain view from patio. Wifi poor. Room had two beds, a small table and telephone sized bathroom. Hope you are skinny. Expensive, but the owners were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is not free.

The rooms were terrible. WAY OVER PRICED!! 83 dollars and you had to pay for coffee and breakfast which was fruit and cereal. No television or air conditioning in the rooms. My room had two big and I mean big!!!Spiders. The floors are so uneven that you feel like your drunk. There needs to be a lot of work done...
