My husnad and myself spent a weekend away in Linville, NC. We had booked the Avery Cottage a month in advance, and were quite pleased. We received a warm welcome by Norma and Eric, who take great pride in their home and business. The gardens were beautiful, and our cottage was quaint. We thoroughly enjoyed our amazing breakfasts (Eric is... More

If you want fancy accommodations where everything 'matches' and one room is the same as the next, don't stay here. You will hate it. And so you will miss an opportunity to stay in charmingly decorated accommodations, surrounded by beautiful gardens. Not to mention a fabulous hot breakfast that starts with the most divine coffee ever and homemade granola. With... More

We stayed 2 nights in one of the cottages at Gable Haus. We accommodation were so very welcoming and homey. We spent a great deal of time on the screened porch. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the steam shower was very enjoyable. The innkeepers, Norma and Eric, are laid back and very friendly. The breakfast prepared by Eric... More

Avery’s Cottage at Gable Haus was quaint and warm and we can’t wait to return. The beauty, nature, and remoteness will definitely keep us coming back, and our dog just loved the mountains too! Norma and Eric were very accommodating hosts and Eric's breakfasts were outstanding. We loved our stay at this B&B and its central location made it perfect... More

We were looking for a clean and comfortable B & B near Grandfather Mountain....we got that and much more at Gable Haus. The place is dripping with old world charm. But the best part is "experiencing" Norma and Eric. Multi talented, creative, interesting, and charming. They have put an incredible amount of work into restoring and renovating the house and... Norma and Eric are very welcoming and relaxed. Breakfast was divine with excellent coffee, a variety of juices, first course of fruit, yogurt, and granola followed by a breakfast casserole, or souffle, etc. Do yourself a favor and let Eric cook supper for you one night...what a treat. Rooms were very clean. Two cute cats live there too. .

This B&B exceeded our expectations. Norma and Eric were very gracious hosts. The inn is a 1910 house with character and charm; it was very clean and the resident cats, Olivia and Zoey, only added more charm. The breakfasts were delicious, hearty, and epicurean. Our bed was the most comfortable one we have experienced in a decade of B&B visits.... More

A wonderfully relaxed, enjoyable stay. The grounds are beautiful, with a stone walk winding among dozens of types of flowers and plants. Our cottage, the Ruffin Retreat, had recently been renovated and everything was perfect. The bath had an old-fashioned claw-foot tub and a space age shower/sauna. (I understand that small children & pets are allowed in other cottages, but... More

My wife and I stayed In one of their cottages in September for a few days to celebrate our anniversary. The hosts were very hospitable and we loved the home cooked breakfasts. They made some home made apple butter from apple trees right on the property. Talk about fresh! Then there was Home made granola. Oh so good! They do make... More

Perfect mountain retreat! My husband and I spent the weekend in Avery’s Cottage at the Gable Haus Inn for a fall getaway. The entire property is charming and the hosts, Norma and Eric, could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed their company, and our entire stay. It was exactly what we were looking for! We like... More
