Our family stayed at the Quality Inn in Lexington for 3 nights over the holiday weekend. I would likely stay here again, but I would like to see some improvements. I would recommend it to other travelers but make them aware of the issues we experienced. The Good: Location – This hotel is right off Interstate 85, accessed by a service road. The adjacent strip mall has several restaurants, both local and national chains, both quick service and family dining. There is also Belk’s, Dollar Tree, Tractor Supply Company, and a few other shops. Walmart, Lidl, and Food Lion are each within a mile and a half of the hotel. High Rock Lake is about 15 minutes away. Staff – For the most part, we found the staff to be helpful and friendly. The front desk staff were friendly and the check in/check out was streamlined. While we did not use housekeeping services while we were there, we would exchange greetings with the housekeeping staff in passing. Beds – The beds were comfortable and had the right amount of covers and pillows. Other – The microwave and refrigerator worked properly and were clean. The TV and phone worked like they were supposed to. We were pleasantly surprised to find sufficient electrical outlets, which sometimes seem to be lacking in hotel rooms. The Mediocre: Breakfast – Breakfast is served 6:30-9:30 daily, at least it should be. Our first morning there, we stopped in for breakfast about 9:15. The empty scrambled egg and sausage pans were still in the warmer. There were two biscuits and an almost empty vat of sausage gravy. There was still plenty of waffle batter and syrup, cereals, breads and pastries, and fruit juice left. The coffee pots were empty; but we found coffee in the lobby. The floors were sticky in some spots and slippery in others. The breakfast room attendant did not come in to check on anything until 9:30, when she closed the doors and began her clean-up. She did not speak to any of the guests in the room while we were there. Our second morning, we went to breakfast just after 9:00 and found the hotel manager mingling with the guests in the breakfast room. The breakfast room attendant kept all the hot foods available until just after 9:30. There was plenty of coffee, too. The breakfast area was reasonably clean, especially compared to the previous day. Parking – I think the hotel has enough parking spaces for the number of rooms, but finding parking proved to be more challenging than it should. It would be helpful to add parking in the rear of the hotel. Laptop Security – We frequently travel with a laptop. There is no way to adequately secure it with a locking cable in the room. This is a common problem in hotels, although some chains have taken it into consideration when buying larger furniture pieces. This would be a helpful update to the room. The Cons: Room Odor – We reserved a non-smoking room. On entering the room, the smell of smoke was strong. I went back to the desk and alerted the staff because I did not want to be charged the $250 cleaning fee. He said the room had been converted from smoking to non-smoking about three weeks prior and assured me we would not be charged. The carpets had been shampooed and the drapes dry-cleaned. After returning to the room, we found the smell to be strongest in the corners of the room and the beds themselves. We asked to be moved to another room, but the same front desk person said the hotel was booked and moving was not an option. We went to a local store and purchased room spray and a solid air freshener/odor remover. Between the two, it masked the odor enough to be tolerable. I mentioned this again during checkout and was told it had actually been about 5 weeks since the entire hotel was converted to 100% smoke free. I suspect the lingering odor will continue until they replace the carpets and mattresses. Bathroom Air – The accessible bathroom was well designed, mostly. We had to leave the bathroom door open any time it was not in use just so the condensation would air out between showers. The exhaust fan, if there was one installed, was not working properly. I failed to mention this to the desk, so they may not even be aware there is an issue. There were no vents for the A/C either, so it stayed hot in there if we closed the door.

Smells like very strong bleach. Dirty towels. Breakfast was alright but wasn't very warm. Slept very good. Only changes towels every three days but you can request more frequently. I guess it's good for the price. Shower was hard to figure out.

Before I arrived, there was a problem with my card and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate me. They were very gracious and polite. And the room was better than I expected. I travel to this area 4 times a year on business, but had never stayed at the Quality Inn before. I will look to book here first next time.

The Quality Inn is an exceptional hotel. I stay there when I am in Lexington on business because of numerous reasons. The rooms are always very clean and spacious. The beds are extremely comfortable. And there is also a large bathroom which is well lighted. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would describe The Quality Inn as my "Home Away From Home" when in Lexington. It is easy to see why The Quality Inn has been a Gold Award Winner by Choice Hotels for 2016, 2017 and 2018. I highly recommend this hotel!!!

We were in town for an event and were looking for a nice, reasonable hotel for an overnight stay. This Quality Inn fit the bill. It is easy to find, right off I85 and close to some fast food and chain restaurants and shopping. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the water in the shower was hot and the water pressure was excellent. Coffee was readily available in the lobby. The staff were very polite and helpful. It appears to have been recently renovated.The only downside is the breakfast was just o.k. The featured item was the waffles. If you are looking for a comfortable, clean place to stay -- this is a great choice.
