Me and my now wife live in Charlotte and wanted a mountain wedding, so we came to Asheville. we chose the honeymoon suite of Wildberry lodge to spend our wedding night (Friday) and the rest of that weekend, and it was perfect! the view from the bed, the cabin, the breakfast, the service...it was all amazing. if you do the walking trail, make sure you follow the marked trees...I didn't and thank goodness there was signal so I can use the Map app and find my way back, haha!
Perched on the hills outside of Asheville, Wildberry Lodge is every ounce the custom-built western lodge. The interior is roomy, airy, and cozy at once. With its two-story vaulted ceiling, the sitting room invites you in with an enormous fireplace, cozy seating and blankets, and incredible views. The lodge has tons of nice touches: a hot tub with flip flops and towels; complimentary wine at happy hour; a fridge stocked with soft drinks, and snacks for the guests at all hours; and baked goods individually wrapped and set out for the taking every evening. The setting is very relaxing. Nature lies all around with hiking trails above and jaw-dropping views of the valley below and layers of hills beyond. A perfect location for watching the sun set. That is also the view afforded at breakfast on the patio: three courses of deliciousness, with different fruits, hot dishes and desserts each day. Our daughter accompanied the two of us and the innkeepers kindly accommodated her vegetarian diet; she ate as well as we did! Glenda, Ken and Darla were kind and flexible from the moment we booked. They even arranged for an early breakfast one morning to accommodate my husband's bike race. We can't wait to return!…
Stayed here with two other couples for a mountain retreat and a close place to explore Asheville. Both were accomplished. We throughly enjoyed our stay and it topped our expectations. Ken, Glenda and especially Darla made us feel welcomed and that everything would be taken care of. The breakfasts were phenomenal and the best I have had at any B&B and I've been to several. The service was outstanding and you cannot beat the view! Give them a try! Tell Darla that Michael Raymond and Coffee Bean sent ya!
Just got back from the Asheville area and I couldn’t be happier about our family’s stay at Wildberry in the Wineberry cabin. The views are gorgeous, the accommodations are cozy, the main lodge areas are beautifully decorated and charming, and the food- oh my goodness, the food! Having not been to the area before I was debating between staying downtown Asheville or more in the outskirts of town to get that mountain feel. I am so happy that in all my Google searches I happened upon Wildberry and decided to go with it after reading all the great reviews. The breakfast every morning was an absolute delight- different each day, but all equally delicious. Most days we didn’t need lunch as breakfast filled us up for the day and were able to explore and hike all day. The drive into Asheville is a beautiful winding drive through the country, but a quick 20 minutes. There is so much to explore in the area, we feel we barely scratched the surface. Glenda and Darla were gracious hostesses and truly made us feel welcomed and taken care of at every turn. Southern hospitality abounds at Wildberry! The title says it all- a true gem of a place! I hope to get back in a different season, although peak fall is pretty hard to beat.…
Absolutely darling bed and breakfast that had everything we could have hoped for -- a stunning view, great amenities, delicious homemade food, peace and quiet, and plenty of outdoor property for exploring during the day. And we love the chess set! Thanks so much Ken, Glenda, and Darla.
My wife and i stayed in the honeymoon cabin and had the most amazing experience. The hosts were so nice and knowledgeable and the food was fantastic. Our cabin/suite was so comfortable and clean, it felt like being home. The shower was great and the views of the mountain with the leaves changing colors will stick in my memory for years to come. Highly recommend staying here if you can.
My husband and I wanted to stay outside of Asheville. I chose Wildberry Lodge after reading all of the glowing reviews and I was not disappointed!! We stayed for 3 nights in the Wineberry Cabin Suite. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and we loved being able to sit outside on the porch to listen to the birds and gaze upon the mountains. I enjoyed the moderately challenging hiking trail that starts near the cabin. Our 3-night special also included a delicious, creative breakfast each morning in the beautiful lodge. It was an easy drive into Asheville, and a delight to return to our peaceful accommodations after the hustle and bustle of downtown.
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The area is so beautiful! Lots of farms on the drive up to the lodge and the mountains just take your breath away. We stayed in the Honeymoon cabin and it was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The bathroom was amazing with a jacuzzi tub, two sinks and a double shower. The kitchen is perfect for making your own meals and the fireplace brings a cozy ambiance. To top it all off are the gorgeous views from the floor-to-ceiling windows facing the mountains. Step out onto the deck for fresh air and enjoy your own little piece of heaven. We enjoyed the four course breakfast at the main lodge which I highly recommend! And it's only a 20 minute drive to downtown Asheville's attractions. I highly recommend Wildberry Lodge, you'll love it and the hosts, Ken and Glenda are wonderful!…
I came across Wildberry Lodge while searching for lodging in the mountains of Western NC. We love this area and wanted somewhere off the beaten path but not too far from towns. Wildberry Lodge was the perfect fit. We stayed in the Honeymoon Cabin Suite, which was within walking distance to the main lodge. My husband and I have travelled to many different states, many different towns and Wildberry Lodge was by far the nicest place where we have stayed, EVER. Ken, Glenda, and Darla were wonderful hosts, very friendly, very personable. Breakfast every morning was FABULOUS and we loved our table for two by the window overlooking a spectacular view. I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone travelling to this area of North Carolina.
Wildberry Lodge is a wonderful, cozy B&B tucked away in the mountains. A relaxing retreat with friendly hosts, delicious breakfast and stunning views. Removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, but close enough to downtown Asheville to enjoy great meals, museums, and breweries. Hiking trails on property and fire pit to make s’mores in the woods at night under the stars. We would recommend staying at Wildberry to anyone staying in the area.
