NUMBER OF ROOMS
Was here as a couple to attend a fall outdoor wedding. Stsyed 2 nights in a pretty room. Bed was very comfortable and room was well lit. Bathroom was larger and brighter than expected for a 1920's hotel but the shower was tiny! No bathtub. Shave your legs before you get here if swimming or wearing something bare. Restaurant was expensive and very disappointing options on the menu and both our meals were only so so. Drinks are very expensive hete. No refrigerator in room but there is an ice machine down the hall. Come for the old world ambiance and close proximity to the lake.
From the moment I booked online, I received personal attention. Within an hour of booking, a guest service agent emailed to tell me there was a wedding the weekend we had booked and that the main restaurant would be closed to guests, but other dining options were available. This was above and beyond. We made a reservation for the Sunday Brunch buffet and also got a personal email confirming this. Upon our arrival, which was late at night due to us attending a concert right before we got there, the night agent was very warm and welcoming. Seeing my "teacher" shirt, he remarked on it and thanked me for what I do as a teacher. Another first! The next day when we stopped by the front desk to purchase some snacks, a different agent was on duty and after my transaction, also thanked me for my service teaching! I was flabbergasted and asked my husband if he had told her I was a teacher. She said "no, David the night agent made a note in your portfolio." That speaks volumes about this staff's dedication to customer service. You're truly more than a room number or a credit card. The only negative impression was a rather dry, impersonal bartender who snapped her answers to our questions. She was definitely a contrast to the other staff but again, won't keep us away. In fact we've already made a reservation to come back in 2 weeks!…
The hotel has not changed and the people are great. I have to give a lower rating because they have stop the hot breakfast in the morning. We go there every year and stay at the Inn and never had this happen before. The reason that was given they could not find people to cook the items the same way every morning. This was done at the expence of their customers. The only other place to get breakfast is done in the village that I will review but not good at all. For being rated as a 5 Star hotel, they need to hire people to cook items the way the Inn wants them.
Loved staying here. Great time of R&R. Very nostalgic! Loaded with antique furniture to admire. Had a room with a view of the beach area. Many nice restaurants nearby. Downtown Chimney Rock is quaint. Loved the Pontoon Boat ride on the Lake.
Overall impressed with this historic classic. Continental breakfast was a bonus. Our king room wasnt too big but enough. We didnt need it but was nice to see it was dog friendly. Suggest when booking to request rooms overlooking the pool. Would return.
