The Lodge on Lake Lure is a wonderful combination of an elegant country inn and a casual bed and breakfast - an intimate environment with all the privacy you want, furnished with art, antiques and collectibles. A large, rambling structure, the Lodge is situated high on the hillside to afford a sweeping view of the lake and beyond.Built in 1938, The Lodge was originally used as a retreat for the NC State Highway Patrol and operated by them until 1968.

Visited Lake Lure on personal vacation for my first time together with my girlfriend. I would HIGHLY recommend the Lodge at Lake Lure. The Lodge at Lake Lure was the absolute best place to experience this scenic area. Even though at the time of this review, it was during Covid, the overall experience was superb. The lodge staff was great from booking-to-departure. The welcome upon arrival was hospitable, friendly and personable. The staff were very responsive to any questions or requests. The Lodge grounds were manicured, clean and well maintained. The scenic view of Lake Lure is best experienced from one of their Lakeview rooms. If not, there is a beautiful outside deck with ample space for sitting and viewing the picturesque landscape. Grab a drink and take in the views. The rooms are outstanding. Great use of space. We stayed in the "Roman-room". Huge bed. Mini-fridge, balcony deck for viewing the stars at night and huge bathroom w/ panoramic views. The daily hot breakfast and coffee was an included, unexpected treat. More than a continental fare, served by attentive and friendly staff. Everything is available within < 10-minutes drive to Chimney Rock, Restaurants, downtown, grocery store, golf, hiking and more. The Lodge at Lake Lure is the perfect spot for individuals, couples or families. It's great retreat and place for small group events, parties and get-togethers. I look forward to my return to the area and staying at The Lodge at Lake Lure.

Looking for a new place to celebrate my husbands birthday I followed a friend’s recommendation and booked at the lodge. although it was Saturday night they were not busy. I understand they have a Great Lake view which wasn’t available this time of year. We knew we could bring our own wine for a reasonable corkage fee. Three of us ordered the grilled Caesar salad large enough to split and it was excellent. One party tried the soup which was also pronounced excellent, two of us had the pork tenderloin which was simple but perfectly cooked and the veggies were above average. My husband had the lasagna which he enjoyed and our other diner has the meatloaf special which had good flavor but was a little dry. All was very reasonably priced and we will go back after the time change to enjoy the view,

It had been several years since we stayed at The Lodge so we decided to revisit. It is a wonderful location surrounded by the lake and our room was perfect with a nice sitting area, balcony view of the lake, and a nice King bed. What we really missed was the hot breakfast that was served years ago and the afternoon gathering of guests with popcorn and wine!

We went this past weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday. It is a secluded, rustic, mountain lodge nestled in the NC mountains. Lake Lure lies at its feet and sparkles silently. The mountains are ablaze with color, this time of the year. We stayed in the 'Golden Pond." It has a lovely veranda, a crackling fireplace, comfortable bed and renovated bathroom. The gem of the bathroom is the clawfoot tub, that overlooks the lake through large picture windows. We had brunch at the Treetops Restaurant. Chef and Owner Yvonne was so warm, friendly and accommodating. Her food was outstanding! Lynne, Sharon were at the Front Desk. Very welcoming. We had the most lovely time. If you are looking for silence and serenity, look no further.

Lodge is old built of logs in very good condition. Our room #3 featured a very comfortable king bed, a sitting area with fireplace and a very large modern bathroom, along with beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Exceptionally clean. Very quiet. Nice deck area overlooking the lake. Fridge in room. In October there was no food service from noon Sunday through Tuesday evening but they put out muffins, coffee and snacks. Very nice place to stay.

We stayed 3 nights in the Looking Glass room . This whole property is peaceful and secluded. What a wonderful stay after a week of intensive chemo for my husband. We needed a quiet retreat and that’s what we got! We loved the claw foot tub in the remodeled private bathroom. Enjoyed dinner overlooking the lake . Beautiful, cozy fireplace room was also a welcome respite for relaxation. Innkeepers were friendly and accommodating! Would choose this place again. Don’t forget to visit Chimney Rock State Park and the Lake House restaurant nearby.

We had a wonderful stay for our Anniversary. Nice room with an amazing view. Be sure to call and talk to them when you make reservations. The pictures on the website don't do the rooms justice. Food was excellent and staff was so wonderful. We will return! Easy access to Chimney Rock park (20 min) and Ashville (45 min).

I was so thankful to have found this place! The lodge, it's accommodations and the grounds were second to none. My wife and I were treated like family from the get go and had any need met if asked. The restaurant on site has very good food. We didn't find the need to go into town for a nice dinner, it was all here. We are already planning our anniversary trip back here later on this year. Do not hesitate to consider this absolute gem for your next trip. Thank you Miss Yvonne and Miss Lynn for your kindness and generosity!

My wife and I returned to one our favorite locations to celebrate her birthday: The Lodge at Lake Lure. With new management, our experience was much improved compared with our visit a couple years ago. The rooms are very comfortable with small porches over looking the Lake. The breakfast has numerous options, well prepared by Chef/Innkeeper Yvonne and amiably served by Inn Supervisor Lynn. This team has their act together and as a result our experience was easily classified with five stars. Dinners are only served Thursday thru Saturday evenings and the Chef delivered two great entrees for my wife and I: pork chops and meat loaf-both prize winning choices. Lynn has plans for further improvements including a new bar and improvements to the outside patio with several boat docks. All in all a great stay at the Lodge!
