Stayed at the Fox Run condos. Not clean and had roaches. Impossible to get in Touch with anyone. Took four calls and three days to get bedding for the pull out couch. No option to exchange towels during your stay without a fee (never seen this before) Hard to get around complex Pool was dirty and overcrowded and snack bar sold out of everything Boat dock understaffed Kayak rental guy was nice!!

We stayed in Trout Stream 104B for almost a week. I can't recommend this unit. We chose this one because it was pet-friendly, but didn't end up bringing our dog. We liked the layout. There's a good size screened in porch, lots of comfortable furniture, plenty of lamps, new Amazon Fire smart TVs. Master bed was very comfortable and room was nicer than downstairs. The downside: very dated and kind of bedraggled. Furniture kind of worn out, kitchen equipment old and poor quality. Ceiling fans don't work. Front door almost impossible to lock from the inside. Curtains in master don't cover the whole window. No curtain on bathroom window, which was weird. Some roaches. Grill unusable because grates were encrusted with filth and mold. Outdoor porch had really yucky old plastic chairs. Couldn’t open door to it from downstairs bedroom. Table in screen in porch kind of yucky. That said, the sounds of the stream are soothing when sitting in the screened porch and location is convenient to the pools, beach and restaurant. We ate dinner at Legends on the Lake and it was excellent.

Rumbling bald on Lake Lure has everything you need. Loved the beach lake access with amazing views with large beach area, has bathrooms, picnic tables, rental chairs/umbrellas. Rentals for boats and kayaking, scenic boat tours. Had 2 pools one indoor and one outdoor, tennis courts, games. I'm not a golfer but wish I was bc the course was beautiful. We even played bingo one night. This place had all you needed! Cannot wait to visit again! Highly highly recommend!

Rumbling Bald is a treasure tucked away in the Blue Ridge Foothills of western NC. Amenities include hiking trails, a spa (best massage ever!) 3 pools, tennis and pickleball and basketball courts, a fitness trail, 2 gorgeous golf courses, putt-putt, and of course Lake Lure and Bald Mountain in all their glory. There are restaurants on site (We love Legends which overlooks the lake) and all kinds of water craft are available to rent from the Cabana on the beach. That is a great place to get ice cream by the way. We also enjoyed the pontoon boat tour of the lake. Make reservations at the Cabana. On weekends there are bonfires with smores on the beach. The community even includes a dog park and a church. Staff is friendly and helpful. Asheville, Hendersonville, Rutherfordton, Tryon (amazing equestrian facility!) are all less than an hour away. Lots of activity available, but the overall feeling at Rumbling Bald is peaceful, relaxing and laid back. Hard to imagine a more beautiful place for a family vacation, girls or guys get-away, or corporate team building.

I was so scared to stay here after reading all the negative reviews. It was a waste of worry. The checkin process was by supposed North Carolina COVID standards and was the worse one of the 4 recent stays we have had. It seemed disinterested and impolite. We received Fox Run Unit 320 which was perfectly clean. Ours was a stand alone unit like a small cabin that was easily accessible for my husband. Easy parking and no stair entry. It was modernized with corian like countertops and had a fireplace which we could only burn Duraflame logs. You need to bring them along. There is a nice deck off the main level dining area. It was great having the sliding door open once we repaired it. The linens are very nice and plentiful. There was a supplemental wall heater in the lower level master suite. The master has a whirlpool tub and deck out to the woods. Regarding kitchen supplies there is no salt or pepper. There are knives but they are extremely dull, serrated terrible for chopping cabbage for coleslaw. There is a sharpener that doesn’t really sharpen serrated knives. There are no serving bowls. I do not like that they charge for miniature golf ($5 I think). Currently the dressing rooms are being remodeled and the indoor pool/hot tub reservation system is cumbersome. There are charcoal grills nearby but I didn’t see any charcoal so bring your own charcoal and starter, etc. The resort is somewhat isolated and remote from groceries. There is a new Ingles with gas pumps in outer Lake Lure. The town is a typical tourist trap with mediocre, expensive restaurants. Even the state park is expensive at $15+ per person.
