This is a resort that only has 46 spaces and they have enough size and landscaping to afford a quiet and lovely stay. Because they only allow newer Class A coaches that are 33 feet or longer, Cousin Eddy types are not here. The people...More
Stayed here 5 times over the past 5 years and really love this resort. Very nicely landscaped and they maintain the property to a very high level. Small resort with only 46 sites, very cozy. Wifi is spotty but we bring our own service so...More

When you go to Apple Valley's website, click on "location" and you will see the driving directions for whichever route you are coming in on. Make sure to follow their advice as some of the roads in that area can be pretty bad for RVs. I came from the South and the last 20 miles were the kind that you take slowly and carefully, but were much better than some of the other roads that we came across when we took our dinghy out sightseeing. If you follow their recommended route and take your time, you should be fine. If you like peace and quiet, you are going to love Apple Valley. We sure did. I am even thinking about buying a place there so I will always be able to stay there when we are passing through. Be sure to visit the "honor" system produce store there. I haven't seen anything like that since the 60s. It may be the best RV park in the US and is certainly in the top 10. Hopefully Lake Lure is back to normal after the hurricane. They had really lowered the water level, so the shoreline was kind of muddy. Have fun!
