I met a friend for five days, four nights. When we made the reservation we understood we were getting a second floor oceanfront room. We ended up with a first floor room and listened to the adults and children above us run races and move furniture all hours of the late night and early morning. This is an older motel...

Nice oceanfront but......I would call it shabby. Really run down and old but perhaps for the price it is okay. Very family oriented, not loud or rowdy. Kitchen poorly stocked in terms of cutlery, bowls, etc. No ice trays, and nothing felt really clean. Beds were good and the shower was excellent water pressure which is a delight after being...

Sweet little family-run motel I return to year after year. They recently revamped with new IKEA furniture in the rooms. Great location right next to the pier/restaurants/etc. Oceanfront rooms come with a private deck, two rockers, and a fabulous view. Clean, pleasant, and family friendly.

It's an amazing prime spot, it's beautiful overlooking the pier and ocean with rocking chairs on the deck. But.... The room we had was not cleaned at all. There was. Bandaid on the floor, long hairs in the bathroom, dirt all over the carpet, chunks of bar soap on the floor, random garbage on the floor and the rooms are...

Wow! No excuses, this room was not ready for rental. I suspect a communication mistake between housekeeping and front desk staff, allowing a room to be checked into before it was properly cleaned. This is not our business standard, and is a very unfortunate error. I am glad you enjoyed the ocean view and that our staff was helpful, but...

This motel is in the absolute perfect location! So sad that the property is not updated to capitalize on that bonus. We were booked for five days and had prepaid or we would have made our exit and sought other lodgings. Even though it was extremely dated, it was clean. We had expressed a desire for a view from our...

It was clean but very old with vinyl floors and rust stains in the tub. The sink was on poles and no counter space. TV was about the size of my computer screen. After seeing the room I decided not to check in. Very nice folks working there.

South Wind has the perfect location! You can walk to 3 great restaurants and the pier is next door. Rooms are clean, and roomy. The only thing that I think would make it better, is a small table and a couple of chairs! I don't like going out to eat for all my meals, so it would be nice to...

Perfect for a immediate place to stay and reasonably priced. Still close to everything for walking distance. Family atmosphere is how we would categorize this hotel. Still can see the ocean from porch if you cannot get beachside.

Kure Beach is a small residential beach. If you are looking for flash and dash, resort comforts or luxuries, this isn't the place for you. If you want clean and comfortable digs with priceless views and a no frills stay, South Wind will foot the bill!! Everyone was very nice from the office staff to housekeeping. We will definitely be...
