We had stayed here in 2013 with our first golden, Lady Emma. We had the opportunity to go to Ocracoke this year and wanted to spend a day exploring the other other places on the OBX, so we stayed here again. The staff was really nice and helpful. They recommended excellent restaurants and were kind to our new golden, Clarence. This room was very nice, spacious, and very, very clean. My only complaint would be the location of the pet friendly rooms. It was directly behind the office, and I do mean directly behind. I'm guessing they were there in case people left their pets alone and they started causing a ruckus, they would know about it. I just found it a bit dark. I would highly recommend staying here and also to take their recommendations for dinner and breakfast.

We came down for a quick one night visit for our birthdays and it was amazing! This was the first time we had stayed at this hotel but not our first visit to obx. We got there around 1130 and they gave us a parking pass early so that we could go to the beach and use the pool. We also asked if there was any way we could check in early and they were very accommodating and had our room ready by 12:30! The staff was very friendly and you could tell they wanted to make sure we had an excellent visit. I have stayed at a lot of places down at obx and this place tops the list of favorite places. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you for an amazing weekend!

Mildew in the shower, painted cinder blocks for walls, knobs turn the wrong way, stain on fresh sheets, fly swatter hanging in room, AC is a window unit and extremely loud, bed frame felt like it was going to cave in and the bed spread was way old and just nasty. The only pluses: on the beach and amazing restaurant across the street. I wouldn’t tell anyone I stayed there. It was an embarrassment to admit.

I have been here twice with the kids and inlaws...and we are planing our third trip for this Sept. its the perfect place to relax with kids and not worry about a thing. If you grew up in a big family and saw great places on a budget this is the place for you and your family. I travel a lot 5 star-2 star depending on where we are headed and the people knocking this place are either very pretentious or have never travelled on a real family trip. Beautiful old mom and pop beach hotel BUILT on the sand and 100 yards from the water which is what you are there for in the first place. Relax and enjoy with the kids on the sand and don't pay attention to the people knocking this great old gem.

My mother is very limited in her mobility. Linda and Howie wanted to make sure that she was able to have a good view as much access to the beach that she could handle. She Never stopped talking about the view and coined the room and hotel "her spot"! The manmade accommodations are sufficient, but the outdoor creation surpasses any expectations. Thank you to the staff, esp Howie, he gave me a homemade mask to wear when shopping local art galleries! WE LOVE THIS PLACE AND IT'S OPERATIONS! THANK YOU HOWIE & LINDA!
