The hotel is clean and well-maintained. The assistant manager decorates the lobby for every season. Love this Hampton Inn and would highly recommend it if you are traveling along I 77 in North Carolina.
This is a great Hampton Inn and the staff is the friendliest of anyplace we have traveled. The lobby is always decorated in a theme of the season. This hotel is clean, with comfortable beds. The pool is currently closed. They have taken all the precautions due to COVID-19. We felt safe staying at this hotel.
We stayed here to use as a base for wine tasting in the Piedmont. There is little to see or do other than wines, Blue Ridge and antique stores. They are using COVID as means to cheapen the brand at the expense of the guest. Breakfast is the same plastic wrapped bread sandwiches or bagels every day. There is no hot or cold food. You cannot even pour your own coffee. You have to eat in your room. Bummer. The pool was closed, although marked for social distancing, leaving nothing to do during down times. The rooms are blah. They charge a pretty hefty price for a farm bureau hotel and then is nothing to show for it.
The hotel spends a lot of time decorating for every holiday. That’s fine but they need to spend more time cleaning and updating the hotel. Furniture and carpeting are getting worn. The brown bag breakfast because of COVID-19 wasn’t much at all. We stayed there twice coming and going on our vacation. The front lobby needs a definite update. Rooms and furnishings needs a good cleaning and updating. The hotel is older and is getting pretty tired looking.
My wife and I were driving home from Florida to Ontario and we were told by friends that this was a great 1\2 way stop. They were 100% correct. Great place with lots of amenities within walking distance. We did not have the breakfast included because we were on our way at 4 am. The ckeckin and out was seamless and very friendly. The staff could not do enough for us. The room was very clean and the fridge was not the usual bar fridge but one that could hold a lot. We were very grateful for that because we had 2 cooler bags of food which we were able to store for the night. Without doubt I would recommend this hotel to all others driving through. Also if you are going to stay try and book online as they fill up quickly and the night we were there they were turning people away.
