My friend and I stayed here for our stay before section hiking. The caretaker Tie(short for Tie-dye) was absolutely wonderful and accommodating. Free coffee and open kitchen. Comfortable rooms and bunks, showers,Right off the trail and very close to town. Laundry 5$. Will stay here again. Thanks again Tie!

We stayed in here on the night before a 5-day hike on the Appalachian Trail. There is the main lodge and then the hostel. We stayed in the Firefly room in the main lodge. The building itself is charming with large common rooms filled furniture and decorations that are exactly what you would expect in a mountain lodge. It looks... More

My wife and I went to Hot Springs for a wedding. This was one of the available places to stay. We fell in love with the place. Bear, the resident cat, was super laid back. All of the rooms were beautiful and some were surprisingly large for a small town and B&B. Breakfast was included and fresh made every morning.... More

This was a wonderful place for our family to stay. As the description states,it is an old, rustic cabin but it is very comfortable and clean. The hand hewed beams are amazing. The kitchen is not new but it fully equipped for cooking and serving. The loft bedroom is roomy and wonderful. Our two grown boys were provided air mattresses... More

Where else can you stay in a beautifully furnished room, walk a labyrinth on the grounds, and have wonderful chats with Appalachian Trail through hikers from the hostel next door? So peaceful that even though there was a motorcycle rally in town, we could not hear anything but birds. Everyone went out of their way to welcome us and see... More

Delightful, serene property located on the hill above the town of Hot Springs across from the school. Walkable to town on Serpentine Road located beside the school (to avoid the busy highway). On a Saturday, all hotels in the area were booked, but a sister hotel recommended this lodge. We are so glad. No answer when we called, but able... More

We just did our Mercyland Songwriter Workshop at the Laughing Heart Lodge in Hot Springs. I've stayed there a few times over the last 4 years, and the folks who work there (most of them named Karen) are fantastic. We needed a gracious and inspiring place to teach the art of songwriting, and Laughing Heart was perfect. The grounds are... More

Our family and friends gathered at the Laughing Heart for a wedding weekend. It was a perfect environment to comfortably reunite for this important family moment. We also had our Bridesmaid luncheon here which was very creative and delicious. The staff are attentive and warmly welcome all! I highly recommend this B&B for a large group or individual needing time... More

Recently stayed three nights while hiking the AT and whitewater rafting. Thank you Tie for everything! Great company of thru hikers. We (six of us) stayed in the hostel, a bunk room perfect for us. No AC in the bunk rooms but the weather was cool in the evenings with a fan. Would definitely stay again.

We spent the weekend in the old cabin they rent on the grounds. By old, I mean very old! Don't stay there if you have balance problems (the floor slopes quite a bit, ha!) Also, be aware that with the age of the cabin, if you are easily chilled you might not want to go in the dead of winter... More
