The staff members were extremely friendly (and knowledgeable; a little more on this in the next paragraph). The rooms and bathroom were clean and well maintained. The cottage that we stayed in had a rustic, warm feel to it with the knotty pine sidings and a gas fireplace. There was a TV in the sitting area and a TV in... More

This was our first stay at Mitchell's and we're already planning to make it a Thanksgiving weekend tradition. The room was much more than we expected, and the staff go out of their way to make it a positive experience. We will definitely be back.

We stayed at Mitchell's Lodge the first weekend in November. While it is not in the downtown area, it was a very short walk. If you go out the back way, there is only about a 50ft stretch where there is no sidewalk. The staff was very friendly and helpful and showed us the best places to hike and eat.... More

Well, the place is nice. We stayed in one of the pet friendly cabins a Saturday night. As its a 2 night policy I overseen that is was so expensive. We were also charged $50+tax for the 2 dogs we brought with us which made the price expensive. That was n''t the biggest issue. Not only at that pet fees... More

Thank you for the review. We apologize for the inconveniences you had during your stay with us. With having much competition in the Highlands' area, Mitchell's Lodge and Cottages keeps their rates exceptionally low but also at a competitive level. Not many lodging in the area has cottages like we do, and is also pet friendly. We do require a... More

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at the Lodge while visiting family, celebrating our 43rd anniversary, and taking in the beautiful scenery. The staff were extremely kind and generous. We stayed in the Log Lodge while there. The accommodations were comfortable, warm , very clean and cozy. We had hoped to stay in the Cedar Lodge section because they... More

Mitchell's is rustic and quaint and perfectly situated close enough to town to walk, but away from the hustle and bustle (not that there is a lot of that in Highlands, but it's nice not to be on the main road). We began staying here when we had very little money just starting out of college. We could not have... More

We had a very enjoyable stay at Mitchell's Lodge. It's right off the main shopping area with plenty of restaurants nearby. We ate at a different place each night. The management is friendly and helpful. We are anxiously awaiting a time to return! The colors the last week of October and first week of November were spectacular. The town of... More

This older hotel is situated between the two main roads into town. The rooms are clean although the part we stayed in was older and showed it. The beds were comfortable. People keep coming back to stay here and the clerk at the desk the evenings we were there greeted them like old friends. She answered a few calls when we... More

After having a beach trip to Edisto cancelled due to Hurricane Matthew, we decided to head to the mountains instead since colors would be peaking, especially in the Cashiers/Highlands area. We had three adults and two kids, which is not always the easiest combination to find accommodations for. I came across Mitchell's Lodge via TA, and saw they had availability... More

We booked a room at Mitchell's Lodge as a last minute getaway. It turned out to be located just a short walk from town, which was ideal because we prefer to minimize driving. The room was clean around comfortable, and commensurate with the rate we paid. Very friendly staff and lovely grounds. We sat by a fire the first night... More

Last minute getaways turn out to be the best vacations! We are glad you found Mitchell's Lodge and Cottages as your lodging. This weather has been perfect for walking into town during the day, then winding down by our wood burning fireplace at our open- aired pavilion. We also have our indoor fireplace located in our lobby, which on the... More
