Son needed temporary housing for 3 months for a work co-op in a nearby town. Looked for the best solution where we didn't have to rent furniture, pay for cable, electricity, etc., since this was a temporary situation. Came across ASA Gastonia and thought this would be perfect. Location to his work was great. Rates seemed affordable for the 3 months. Spoke with Kim, who is awesome, and finalized the booking. When we arrived to move him in, the place reeked of cigarette smoke. Absolutely reeked. Saw that it was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but the family below had obviously been smoking in their room with the door open but all the smoke came up into his suite, plus there are smoking receptacles all over the place with cigarette butts completely filling the receptacles. I spoke with Kim and she used an air freshener bomb in the room, plus we bought air fresheners and Febreeze to spray the carpets. Sent him an air purifier as well. None of it helped. The family below him were also constantly fighting and slamming doors, at all hours of the day and night. They would wake him up in the middle of the night with their screaming and cursing. I was witness to several episodes of this during the few visits we made to visit him. There were also stains on the carpet, couch, dirty microwave and range hood. When we brought him home and he went to unpack we realized that everything reeked of cigarette smoke and spent 3 days doing his laundry to get the smell out of his clothes. Also, the free wifi is substandard at best. It was very slow and he always had an issue getting kicked off while he was trying to do his work. No ethernet was available either. The trains also run by here day and night, across the street and do blow their whistles any time of the day. If you're looking for hotels, would highly recommend going a few exits west on I-85 in Gastonia to avoid this hotel.…
We came in April of this year. The first person I met was Mrs. Kim Wallace, such a wonderful woman. Mrs. Wallace is the Property manager. She manages the property while displaying professionalism, a courteous staff, and strong support for the guests. We look forward to seeing Mrs. Wallace every day! Then there’s “Mr. Butch” ... Well he’s an amazing and totally awesome guy. What an amazingly astounding team, We just love them BOTH! As far as the perks, Let’s just say, if we could give 10 Stars, we’d definitely would! Thank us later!
We've been here for 2 months and find it very homey, comfortable and clean. The staff is very helpful especially the manager, Kim Wallace. I am very glad that we found this place. The price is very affordable and convenient to everything we need. This will always be the first place we try to get in to when we are in this area.
I've been there for over 3 months. It feels much like a small apartment community. Kim Wallace & her staff are over the top friendly & helpful. I don't even have adequate words to describe just how awesome they are. Everything is so clean & fresh, except for one thing. They desperately need to do a remodel as far as updating furniture & decor. The bed is very hard & a recliner in the room would definitely make it even better. I would, have & will continue to recommend this place to everyone I know who needs a temporary-long term place with no lease commitment.
A great place to stay short or long term management and staff are very friendly and help any way they can hotel is very clean rooms are kept very clean . Stores and restaurants close to the hotel.. My only thing would be they need to upgrade on the furniture the love seat is not big enough for two people a sofa would be a lot better.. And maybe 4 washers and dryers instead of 2 when you have 30 rooms and most are long term everyone is waiting in line to wash clothes
