If primitive camping, cold water only showers with frogs, no electricity, no water at your campsite are your thing then this is the place for you. After all you are near the beach! Our RV is set up with solar, and we carry our own water so it wasn't much of a problem for us. The cold showers felt great...

My family and I stayed 8 days and had a great time. Here is what you need to know. You cannot reserve any specific site but you can make a reservation for to stay there. Once you get to the park look around and find a site that you like, put something down to reserve the sight and then go...

The camp sites are very primitive. I wouldn't want to come on a busy weekend when you don't get to choose from several sites as some of them don't see to have picnic tables or good places to put your tent. We got there a little before 1 and drove through and picked P60, which ended up being a good...

This is a beautiful campsite in a historical part of the Outer Banks, in a convenient location for traveling to several beaches, as well as Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. It's a fairly large campsite. All of the sites are unique, and like others have said, contain natural barriers that create privacy. Conveniently located, the facilities are clean and well-kept. However, our...

This is a gorgeous National Park camp grounds. Notable, because the other hatteras camp grounds are all flat and side by side. This one is covered in trees and rolling dunes with lots of indigenous life... birds, animals, etc. are right at camp. Excellent bathing and restrooms, and most of the camp staff are very friendly. The water was very...

My husband and I camped here last year for Memorial Day weekend. This site is great, lots of space between spots and clean facilities. There are trees and shrubs that serve as natural barriers between lots so plenty pf privacy. The beach is just over the dune. It's incredible waking up to the sun rising and the sound of the...

The Frisco campground is one of the more amazing campgrounds we've stayed at recently. The trick is actually to pick a site away from the beach and up towards the top of the hill. There's more likely to be a cool breeze, and you're farther away from the sand mites. Plus, of course, there are expansive views overlooking the campground,...

We love camping in this campground. Very close to the beach. No hot shower but everything was clean. One of the best beaches in NC. It is located in a secluded location but close to a great convenience store.

Stayed for a couple of nights in mid September and loved it. The campsites are nestled in the dunes, some with shade. Stayed at P6 which was right next to the boardwalk and had great dimensions and privacy. At first it bothered me that the walk to the beach was quite far but I got over it quickly when I...
