We got picked up here a year ago while backing on the AT and imediately booked a trip when we got home! We stayed in the Kimsey Creek Group sites with some friends and their kids. Not one time over the 6 days did any of the little guys complain about being board. There are plenty of trails to explore... More

We began camping at Standing Indian back in the early 1990's. It is a beautiful place to get away from the summer heat and humidity. We just returned from a 5 day camping trip and loved every minute of it. We hit great weather except for a heavy afternoon rain. Some Natl. Forest camp sites we have been on are... More

No matter if your traveling with an RV or tent this is a amazing camp site. The campground has four loops with sites available first-come, first-served or by reservation. I reccomend reservation because it can become full at a moments notice. After stopping by the camp sign in cabin and mini store to sign in you are welcomed a extremely... More

Nice campground, however, never saw a host on loop 5. Campers beside us were cutting down mountain laurel, the campers above us got into an altercation. Small children 4 and 5 years old wandering around the entire loop with no supervision. Teenagers yelling back and forth day and night. Definitely not the quite, relaxing weekend we had envisioned.

Stayed a week here and enjoyed it. Had site 55/56 so it was back in the woods. Bathrooms were clean. Generators were not an issue. Loved being close to so much water. The rivers were great. We also hiked the Standing Indian Loop (27 miles) and what a great trip that was!

Came back again to same spot from last fall visit. Had great neighbors the first night and bad (loud - motor mouth) neighbors the next...making my quiet forest experience not so great!! Ran my generator just to drown out the endless talking. Rained both nights and made for less than a fantastic experience...caught a couple fish in river by campsite!!... More

Spent a night at standing indian this past weekend. The campground was full of friendly people, hosts, etc. A beautiful park at this point of the season, with lots of fall colors and smells. There were a lot of campers, but all were quiet and easy to deal with . We stated in loop 5 (the most wooded of the... More

My wife and I just returned from our third camping trip here, each for 5 nights. We always tent camp but this campground has way more RVs/campers than tents. There are no hook ups for the campers so there are lots of generators running throughout the camp. I don't mind the quieter generators designed for camping so much but some... More

We stayed 4 days and had a great time. We do our camping in a tent so we had easy access to the campground. The hosts were friendly and very helpful. Bathrooms were very clean. The only negatives we had was campsites are not very secluded and the river is not good for fishing. They did suggest another creek about... More
