My family of four had a wonderful time camping and hiking around Standing Indian campground. It was a fantastic off the grid experience. It was pretty cold, but we had a fire and tons of warm blankets. We are looking forward to camping here again.

Be warned that this beautiful campground has a terrible generator policy and no generator free loop. You can run a generator from 6AM-10PM. We had two inconsiderate neighbors that basically ruined our entire time. It was so loud you couldn't hear the birds and that special time around the campfire at night was ruined by noise and gas fumes. Please... More

This is a very nice campground. We camped in a travel trailer in November 2015. All the sites have electric and there are nicely spaced water pedestals throughout each of the loops for those that need to have water. I would suggest bringing a long hose though if you do not want to haul water containers to fill your RV... More

This is our second time going to Standing Indian. I really like the campground and the fact it has so many hiking trails around it. It seems like there is lots of rain in August though. Both times we have been there in August and had a fair amount of rain, this last time it rained all 3 nights and... More

We got picked up here a year ago while backing on the AT and imediately booked a trip when we got home! We stayed in the Kimsey Creek Group sites with some friends and their kids. Not one time over the 6 days did any of the little guys complain about being board. There are plenty of trails to explore... More

We began camping at Standing Indian back in the early 1990's. It is a beautiful place to get away from the summer heat and humidity. We just returned from a 5 day camping trip and loved every minute of it. We hit great weather except for a heavy afternoon rain. Some Natl. Forest camp sites we have been on are... More

No matter if your traveling with an RV or tent this is a amazing camp site. The campground has four loops with sites available first-come, first-served or by reservation. I reccomend reservation because it can become full at a moments notice. After stopping by the camp sign in cabin and mini store to sign in you are welcomed a extremely... More

Nice campground, however, never saw a host on loop 5. Campers beside us were cutting down mountain laurel, the campers above us got into an altercation. Small children 4 and 5 years old wandering around the entire loop with no supervision. Teenagers yelling back and forth day and night. Definitely not the quite, relaxing weekend we had envisioned.

Stayed a week here and enjoyed it. Had site 55/56 so it was back in the woods. Bathrooms were clean. Generators were not an issue. Loved being close to so much water. The rivers were great. We also hiked the Standing Indian Loop (27 miles) and what a great trip that was!
