Just completed our second stay at this hotel, and once again, completely satisfied. Hampton Inn is always our choice when on the road, and normally a pleasant experience. The Guest Services Manager (Bo Marbrey), at this particular location, makes our stay that much more pleasurable. Always a smile, always extremely helpful, and always courteous. Simply a pleasure to do business with. Quite an asset to this location.

My wife and I travel a lot and the most memorable thing about our visit here was the authentic friendliness of the entire staff, from the front desk to cleaning personnel.

Although this hotel is not as modern as other hotels we’ve stayed in recently, it was clean and comfortable and the cost was reasonable. Included breakfast was basic due to COVID restrictions but adequate. Choice of nearby restaurants is excellent.

We stayed here one night. The staff was friendly. They had an outdoor pool, that as of the time we were there in June 2020, was able to be used. It is about 1 hour away from the Outer Banks. Due to COVID19, there was no breakfast buffet, but they were doing the best they could to provide coffee and some grab-n-go breakfast bags.

Summary
My wife and I arrived at the Elizabeth City Hampton Inn on August 6th after 3pm. Everything was fine until the next morning when we went to take showers. There we found the shower had evidently not been cleaned as we found a used bar of soap in the soap dish. We reported it to the on duty clerk who stated that he could pacify us with free snacks. My wife and I felt insulted and like less than first class guests who had just paid $300.00 a night for a dirty bathroom.

Covid protocols were not being enforced in any fashion. Rooms were dirty, loud guests, but would stay again as location worked very well for what we needed. Rooms were not very kid friendly. If we were staying longer than one night would have complained to a manager.

The Elizabeth City Hampton Inn is a nice hotel. The problem we experienced had to do with too much noise. At the intersection, traffic was loud, and there was noise...doors slamming and talking...from the hall and adjacent rooms. Next time, we'll ask for a room facing the back of the building.

The King Suite was roomy and comfortable, with a great view of the pool below and the morning sky and summer greenery in the background. Varied, comfortable seating in the room. The television, fridge, coffee-maker, iron, etc., were new and easy to use.
Buffet breakfast offered hearty selections that were well cooked and tasty.
Front desk staff were amazing: polite, friendly, patient and helpful.
Kudos to Manager Lori D. who calmly assisted with a disabled family member's snafu.
I highly recommend this establishment to anyone visiting the Elizabeth City area.

Staff very welcoming. Room was very clean, roomy and comfortable. The only negative might be the location making it difficult to pull into the parking lot across oncoming traffic since it is near an intersection. Other than that, the location is good for being near restaurants, downtown and other business locations.

I flew from Texas to North Carolina for my sons graduation from AWT in the Coast Guard. I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Elizabeth city. Nc. Well, getting dressed and ready to go to his graduation in the morning, a pulled the chain to open the black out blind and the entire curtain/blind came out of the ceiling and fell on top of me. I reported it to the front desk but unfortunately I didn’t report my injuries. I didn’t think they were that necessary but lo and behold a few days later I received 280+ dollars in charges “cleaning fees” and when I talked to the manager, they said it was obvious that it was intentionally pulled out of the ceiling from someone because it was anchored in. I am a 5 foot 100 pound grandmother at 61 years old. I guess they assume I jumped onto the ceiling to pull this out. I have been a Hilton devoted customer for 20 some years and to be treated this way is very disappointing and I get the WOKE young child OK young adult manager, telling me that after observing there is no way you could’ve just pulled a chain you had to of physically forced it out of the ceiling and we will not issue you a refund and he repeated it over and over and over and of course when I contacted Hilton customer service, they said the same thing because aren’t they all WOKE?!
