The location is basically the only thing I would recommend about this hotel. The hotel smelled as soon as you entered the lobby. The room smelled even worse. I was reminded of 80's hair spray and foul body odor. We were using the pull out bed, however once we pulled it out and laid on it, we put the couch...

University Inn isn't fancy, but it is clean and within walking distance of Duke Hospital and medical rates are available and reasonable. There is also a free shuttle that runs until 9:00 pm which I found useful after dark. I couldn't have asked for a more convenient location. There is a microwave and refrigerator in the room. The only cups...

Stayed three nights while family member was in Duke hospital. The outside was off-putting, but the room was as clean as any I've stayed in. Bed was comfortable and shower was hot. The continental breakfast was simple, cereal, milk, juice, coffee and pastries oh and a free local paper. The hospital promotes this hotel and the stay is the least...

Spent 2 nights at the University Inn while visiting one of the clinics at Duke. Room was very comfortable, bed was nice, comfortable furniture, micro/fridge, table and a desk. Sink area separate from bathroom. TV was not large but very clear picture with good cable, and good WiFi. Nothing fancy here but met all my needs and they have special...

Location is great, as is the shuttle service. Polite and helpful drivers - especially Rory and Pablo. All day coffee is a nice touch. Some things not so great. The breakfast is pretty meagre - where is the fruit? There is sugar-laden cereal and pastries but nothing substantial. The bed in my room gave me backache every morning. I don't...

I stayed at the University Inn while visiting my Dad who was recovering from surgery at Duke. My room was clean and spacious. I really like the convenience of being able to walk to Duke hospital through the parking garage and we visited several times a day. The rooms were not modern, but were clean and comfortable. I will stay...

The main reason for our visit was to keep an appointment with a doctor at Duke. The location was convenient. They have a free shuttle to the hospital which is a plus. The price directly from the hotel was about$90,for an ordinary hotel. It is clean. If I'd checked further,I might have stayed at Courtyard by Marriot, right next door! They do have a continental breakfast.

My husband and I stayed stayed 2 different times as I was having medical procedures done at the hospital. We chose this hospital for the price and convenience to it. Over all the rooms were decent for the price and breakfast was ok. I would not, however, recommend staying here. At least not if you are relying on the shuttle...

I agree with previous reviews concerning cleanliness & no frills... But it is adequate & SO convenient! I didn't want any more driving. It's better than my last stay in NJ at a Crowne Plaza, and the medical rate is a relief.

I went back to Duke after 5 years of graduating to attend the annual reunion in 2015 and wanted to stay in a safe and convenient location which is close to campus. University Inn provided just that - the free shuttle to and from the prime locations within campus was extremely convenient and safe. University Inn provides chauffered shuttle service...
