Stayed here for a business trip and overall, happy with the accommodations... I used the fitness room x 2 and it was great... My ONLY complaint is that the room was quite musty, but I didn't report this as I know it's an older hotel and I was only in the room overnight... or was working in the room all day, it may have been a deal breaker...

I tend to stay with Hilton, but I am not against Bonvoy depending on conditions... But an early check in, for a room already confirmed as ready, would be $25.00 because of housekeeping... Wouldn’t a late check out impact housekeeping more than a room that was already ready?... But clipping a loyal customer for checking in a few hours early, when the room is confirmed ready is not helping your case... I almost always stay at this Hilton... But now that $25.00 fee you pressed me for, means I will be staying at the Durham Marriott... And this review lets my fellow travelers know to be ready for the squeeze if you stay here... Charge what you need to charge, but just stop it with $25.00 fees to check in and $15.00 fees for a high floor...

Everything costs more, although the basic wifi (which kicked out occasionally) is free... Breakfast costs like fifteen bucks, but you can get a cup of coffee for only four... So if you are charging your shareholders or taxpayers for your stay, it's an okay place (leaving aside the moral and ethical issues)...

I had a confirmed 2 day reservation and a staffing error at the front desk checked me out after the first day... A printed confirmation was provided to the staff and it did not seem to matter to them, and they refused to acknowledge their error... I moved to a Marriott property close by and they were extremely pleasant...

The hotel is located about three miles from the hospital making it easy for me to go back and forth to the hospital... I felt safe coming and going at odd hours as the parking lot is well lit and someone was always at the front desk... The thing that sets this hotel apart from others is the staff... Everyone we encountered was helpful and caring in what was a rather stressful time for us... Shacura worked the front desk and helped me multiple times with questions and always made me smile... Donna made my morning coffee with a smile and a quick wit... Staff members like this insures that we will return to Hilton Durham near Duke University on all further trips to Durham...

We were there for medical appointments at Duke Health, so it was a difficult time for us, made better by the friendliness shown by all team members...
