We booked a last minute trip to Chapel Hill for a local event on 11/13/21, and the booking process was pleasant and reassuring. The reality of the facility was anything BUT those qualities. The entire building and grounds are run down and generally uncared for - loose garbage, cigarette butts, and sticky pools of dark liquid in all the stairwells and walkways. Our room, 201, was clearly labeled as Non-Smoking but as soon as we entered ... the smell of stale cigarettes and mildew was overpowering. It was so bad I'd describe it by saying you could taste the smell through your skin! Nasty. We tried to make a go of it, but by 10:30 that night it was unbearable / unbreathable ... and we checked out. The night manager was very apologetic, and when we told him we were in 201 he literally said, he would "never put anyone in 201" ... I personally doubt any other rooms were better based on the overall appearance of the hotel. The night manager also said he was not authorized to give us a partial refund but to call back the next day and speak to the manager, "Nick". We did call the next day and were told "Nick" was not available, but should be back in a day or two, and the person I was speaking to could not help me. He took a message he said he would make sure "Nick" received.... we never got a call back. We won't waste our money or time here again, and recommend you don't as well. *And I have to wonder if the high star ratings here are from paid responders. I cannot imagine this property being higher than a 2, even if you did luck into a clean-ish room.…
This place is great for people who travel with dogs as there is no fee! It was clean, quiet, and newly renovated. The bed was comfy and the shower was great. The area around the hotel was safe. RedRoof Inn is a no frills place tho. I would definitely stay here again
$93 Room Had No Sheets, Covers, Towels, Soap Or Toilet Paper. Front Desk Worker Seldomly Attended The Window Check In Window & Had To Wait 35 Mins Just To Dispute The Condition The Room Was Previously Left In. I Ended Up Not Staying & When Wanting To Resolve The Issues I Had The No One Aside From The Manager Could Rectify The Situation & The Manager Wasn’t Easily Accessible For 5 Days As Well His Commitment In Upholding Standards For Guest Was Lacking Once I Was Able To Reach Him After Numerous Attempts. By Far The Worst Hotel Experience I’ve Had.... 1 Star Out Of 5. The 1 Star Being That At Least There Was A Parking Space For My Car. Still Unresolved... I’ll Follow Up When All Is Resolved
After staying at Red Roof Inn Durham, Chapel Hill Rd. I noticed that I was being followed by an employee named Jim. I didn't know what his intentions where. I checked in another time, and Jim came to my room upon check out. I called the front desk, and no one answered. After Jim left. We came to the lobby to find employees and the General Manager Nick McNair standing there. I complained angrily without profanity to Nick McNair. He didn't respond, or even ask Jim why he was following me. Strangely Nick McNair then told other employees not to rent to us again. If you stay there, use caution, and make sure a green pickup truck isn't following you. Also, General Manager Nick McNair may have been involved in this strange stalking. I am a senior, with two adult children. I have stayed at other hotels in the area and never had any problems.…
Great price to stay and good service .clean rooms and great prices and it’s a great hotel I will be coming back for future residents here one of the best places I’ve have booked in a while I will give it 5 stars
I booked a room at the Red Roof Inn for a last minute trip to visit UNC. The price was great and the hotel is located only a short drive from downtown Chapel Hill. The hotel staff graciously accommodated my late night check-in and was very friendly by answering my questions and making sure everything was to my satisfaction. I specifically want to give Jordan R. a shout out for making my experience great!
My boyfriend and I took a long weekend down to North Carolina for his birthday. This hotel was affordable, clean and in a great location. It was close to everything we wanted to do and see. Staff was also very friendly. Jordan R was very accommodating at the front desk. Our house keeper was wonderful. I believe her name was Angela.
If you are looking for a place to stay that is not too expensive, this is the place for you. Nice wood floors, has microwave, mini fridge, blowdryer, ironing board, and coffee pot. Not too far from some late night food places and grocery stores. Jordan was a big help at the desk.
First off I want to say the hotel was very quiet. Stayed here for 6 days. The was very clean. Our housekeeper made sure we had everything you could ask for in the room. The beds were comfortable. The one thing l didn't like was there was no book showing what restaurants were in the area since the hotel didn't have a restaurant. I don't usually drive after 9pm in areas I'm unfamiliar with. So knowing who delivers is key. Lastly we received a good value for the price we paid.
So I'm from Chapel Hill the room could definitely use a upgrade. Starting with the a.c. unit, beds are sleepable. However I was Thankful for Jordan great customer service and was very polite& knew the exact reason I couldn't get in room. Outstanding Jordan🆒
