My family and I rented the Eagles Nest Lodge and Perch for a week and it will be a fond memory forever etched in my mind. First, the view. WOW! Whether we were on the first floor or the upstairs balcony, clear, unobstructed views of the Great Smoky Mountains were plenty. The hot tub was a big hit with my kids especially because it was still cold in the middle of March (60s during the day/30s at night). Other than one day, we had sunshine all week which was a huge blessing! If you decide to stay here, I recommend staying between April and October because the colors in the mountains are most vibrant. The holiday season (November and December) is also a great time to stay. Although the colors are not nearly as vibrant from January - March, this is considered the slow season in the Smoky's of NC, and rates may be less. Be sure to check out Poteet Park and Darnell Farms (if you're bringing little kids). Check out the plane wreck on WaterRock Knob Trail in Smoky Mountain National Park. And do NOT miss Mingo Falls. This was a glorious trail and you'll love the falls. Juney Whank Falls were pretty cool too. Eagles Nest is awesome and I recommend staying for a week, if not longer. You won't want to leave. We certainly didn't.

My husband and I just returned from a FANTASTIC week-end-get-away at the Eagles Nest at Capodimonte...All I can say is WOW!!! The Mountain Chalet was incredible-everything was immaculate with lovely accommodations, Beautiful landscaping, a Gazebo for watching the sunsets and a Hot Tub for relaxing in. And the views of the Mountains from our deck was Simply BREATHTAKING!!! a view we enjoyed waking up to every morning. The worst part of our trip was having to leave all that Beauty behind. We highly recommend Eagles Nest at Capodimonte for a Great Get-A-Way or for a Vacation Spot...YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!! We will definitely return!!! And thanks again to Patrick for your Hospitality and for being a Great Host Ernest & Linda Phillips-----Stayed October 2015

Eagle's Nest is a tiny accommodation perched on top of a ridge with views east and west. East from the studio apartment and west if you walk around to the other side of the house and sit in the gazebo, where you can watch the sun go down behind the mountains. It's very quiet, meticulously cared for, and nicely fitted out for an at home experience while exploring and experiencing this breathtaking part of North Carolina. The cost per night is very reasonable. If you're looking for a real retreat from it all, this is the place to go.

Almost hate to share this little secret gem of a place, or it may get booked and we wont be able to get a room again! We were there for the fall colors in Middle of October and it was magical. Its a bit of a drive up the mountain but we made into the driveway even with our large pickup truck. Great manger and accommodations. Totally the best. We got to grill out, have a fireplace warm us..and relax with views all down the mountains.

You can search for days, like I did, looking at hotels, cabins, bed and breakfasts, and other places to stay in the Dillsboro/Sylva/Franklin/Waynesville/Cherokee/Bryson city area but you won't find a place that can compare to the Eagles nest. I'm not sure how to even rate this room compared to the other places. The price is excellent. The views are amazing. And the owners couldn't be better hosts. For a low price I got a suite with full kitchen, a deck with an breathtaking view, and the use of a hot tub under a sky dotted with stars. There is nothing more I could ask for. The only "bad" part is finding your way up the mountain at night the first time. I would not recommend trying this for the first time on a motorcycle, but subsequent could in the day light would be doable. Still tricky though.
