Detailed Reviews
The hotel is really cool aesthetically, with the option to rent individual rooms or entire cottages. I stayed in a 2 bed room and family stayed in a 1 bed cottage. The service was really good, I lost my wallet on the last day and they found it in the parking lot, called me up, and shipped it to me no charge. Not a lot of places care that much, we will definitely look to stay again next time we are in the area!

This inn was a unique find for a last minute reservation. It was cozy and just big enough for two slender adults. Decorations in the room were a bit quirky: a picket fence headboard, a crystal chandelier over a miniature corner bathroom sink, and a river rock floor in the shower. We enjoyed complimentary morning coffee while sitting on porch rocking chairs and taking in the splendor of chimney rock. Other amenities included a basket of toiletries, TV, and mini-refrigerator. The mattress and pillows were very firm. Proximity to Lake Lure, the Flowering Bridge, and Chimney Creek State Park and village was excellent. We were a bit concerned about possible noise at this roadside location but found there was virtually no traffic after the dinner hour. Also, our room #5 was next to the office and in the middle of the string of guest rooms, but again it was very quiet. Halloween decorations in the outside common area were fun and engagingly creepy. We did report to the office that there was a bright light shining into the room during the night which was disturbing to this light sleeper. Also, there was a fairly wide gap around the door frame with missing weatherstripping, plus the rear window screen did not fit properly, so we had a couple of stink bugs come to visit. Overall, this was a good and reasonably priced accommodation for a two-night stay.

This Inn far exceeded expectation. Even when there was issues with the hot tub within the cottage we were refunded that night AND got a free nights stay in the bigger cabin. DEFINITELY going back! Plus the surroundings were amazing.

Don’t be deceived! The Location of the Sunset Suite and Chimney Rock Inn are so fabulous Great Views, easy to access town and surrounding area. Plenty of room for my family. However the terrible news is the beds were harder than sleeping on the ground, the linens so dated and old they had holes in them. The Sofas were so broken down it felt like sitting on the wooden frame. The windows were covered with paper shades? The Bathroom door.. did not close, would not close.. but you could keep it from being wide open by using the trash can. The cottage was clean! Space Ample for a family comfort severely lacking. There is also zero coffee in the can that looks deceptively full. There are however filters for the coffee maker, fresh towels and wash cloths, and great hot water pressure. If you need a roomy clean place for your family bring your own mattresses, linens and coffee!

We stayed four nights in a cottage room, sipped on coffee and tea in the early mornings on the fantastic large front porch. The rocking chairs are comfortable and had a great view of Chimney Rock. Our last evening we ate dinner at one of the round tables after the sun had crossed the tops of the mountains. They served hot coffee most every morning for guests. Their hospitality was very good and we used their ice machine every day. Very nice visit.

Cute little room, that had clearly been updated fairly recently. Good heater, which is important in winter in the mountains. The beds were clean and comfortable. Huge shower, considering the size of the room. Very reasonably priced. The only slightly weird thing was that the reception was never open the whole time we were there. They called us a few hours before we were set to arrive, and told us they would leave our room unlocked with the keys in the room, and to slide our paperwork under the office door and put the key in the drop-box when we left. We were only there one night from about 6pm to about 9am the next morning, but it felt a little weird. Otherwise a lovely place and very convenient to Chimney Rock village, the state park and Lake Lure. We’ll probably be back!

+1
We have been coming to Chimney Rock Inn and Cottages for 2 years now and it gets better every time! You are welcomed the moment you get there, and we have always felt at home here. With the newly remodeled rooms and the additions of mini fridges, they have truly went the extra mile to make sure you have everything you could ever need. We are currently looking at dates for our next trips! The free coffee in the morning on the antique stove and the sound of the waterfall in the evening are some of our favorite things, and we plan on always being forever patrons of this beautiful place. It’s our forever home away from home.

Cute room, friendly and quick check in. Would love to stay again except they def. Need new mattresses, ours sagged terribly, and please bleach the bathroom floors in the bathroom. Other than that, clean accomodations in a perfect location

I’m rating these accommodations because of the condition of our bed in our room. When you walk into a room and see that the mattress is concave, that should be a sign to possibly get a new mattress. The room was small, but very cute. The shower was tiny, but was usable. There was no hair dryer so that was disappointing. Went to the office to ask, but locked up for the night. I’m just used to staying in rooms that this is standard.

Room #1 was recently renovated & very clean. Small, but adequate & we enjoyed our stay. Also, pool was very clean. Large deck with view of Chimney Rock, live music across the street was a plus (good rock band on our first night). Parking is cramped, but ok. Good coffee!

We had a two bedroom. There was a full porch off of one of the bedrooms. But the landing area at the front door also had chairs for seating facing the water. The kitchen was a full kitchen, but very small. Nice unique place. The small town was awesome, and traveling to our areas of interest was great.
