This is a very nice hotel great views managers are awesome rooms are very very very clean and you feel like you are out in the mountains and not in some resort it is my opinion that this is one of the best hotels and Chimneyrock and during your stay there you may want to check out the point of...

We needed a spot just for an overnight stay in the Lake Lure area. This is a great little retro motel, right on the river. At first we were a bit dismayed at how close it was to the road, but we soon discovered it didn't matter a bit! Traffic slowed to almost nothing by evening, and the we only...

Took me back to my childhood. Perfect place to stay if you want to be by a mountain river with a view of Chimney Rock State Park. Grandson loved climbing on the large boulders along the river. Friendly management, cozy rooms, beautiful scenery. Will stay here again.

Southern hospitality with warm and peaceful surroundings. Not new but clean and serene. Wonderful management service. I Recommended it if you are looking for a lodge by the river and rocks with the sound of the rushing river, lovely landscape and a down-home feel.

Evening Shade is a very Warm and Cozy place to stay. We spent 3 nights there and didn't want to leave. The views of Chimney Rock and the River are right outside your back door and possibly your window depending on which room you get ( we had room 3). We had a small and adequate kitchen. The room was...

I've been coming up to this area for years but have actually never stayed overnight. My fiancé has never been to the area before and I planned a surprise trip for his birthday, including an overnight stay. I had no guidelines as far as choosing a place to stay, but went with The Evening Shade since it was closest to...

The Evening Shade is now on my "must" list of places to visit again! Charming, restful, clean – and hosts Becky and Gary couldn't have been nicer. Friends have places next door at the Dogwood RV Park, so the accommodations here were super convenient and right on the money. With spectacular river views, this place is simply awesome.

The outdoor atmosphere here is perfect! The room I stayed in was fine for what we needed. I would prefer a room with a bigger shower but that's my only complaint. The management was very nice and accommodating. If you choose to walk to the restaurants & shops it's less than a mile but no sidewalks. I can't wait to...

We book a night stay here passing through Chimney Rock. The furnishing are older but the room was clean. We had a kitchen and our 7 & 12 year old slept on the pull out couch. The back porch was so peaceful with the river. Thee was done traffic noise where the kids were but after climbing all the stairs...

They tried to have a theme in each room. The decor was extremely dated and the linens were old. The air conditioner is loud and the room was a bit musty. That said, the view and the location are excellent. The river is just so relaxing and just a few steps away. You don't go here to be pampered, you...
