Four of us decided to have a nice meal out after eating in our rented cabin for many nights and The Esmeralda was chosen and didn't disappoint! Nice food in a friendly atmosphere with good wait staff and a selection of good wines. We found it to be relaxing dining in an area where many restaurants are hustling tourists in and out as fast as they can.

Despite all the assurances on the Web about their Covid protections, with rare exceptions the staff isn't masking, and the owner is quite defensive about it. This used to be our special getaway. The whole atmosphere is different now with some of the former staff gone--not, I suspect, because, as the owner says, "the government is paying them to sit at home." I imagine there is more to it than that. It is extremely deceptive to advertise that staff is masking when it isn't.

Thank you for your thoughts!! We are following ALL CDC guidelines. It is a choice for Staff and guest to wear mask at THIS TIME, as most of our staff is vaccinated. The National EMPLOYMENT crisis has affected ALL BUSINESSES ACROSS THE COUNTRY! Therefore, we are operating under increased demand and less team members and we are doing the best we can under these circumstances. We hope you will return when you feel safe!

Casually elegant dining experience in a gorgeous setting. From online booking to friendly greeting on arrival, the initial promise of the place carried through the evening. The server was gracious and informative without hovering, and the special and menu items were well-prepared and presented. Fresh ingredients with thoughtful preparation and spices. The ambience was pleasant( we were outdoors) and felt intimate despite 80% of tables occupied. Definitely a place we would return to enjoy again.

This is our 2nd time at the Esmeralda and this time we rented the Chimney Rock Cabin. The cabin is exceptional - right by the roaring River, nicely decorated with wrap around porch - a truly delightful stay. And, the cabin is 3 min. walk to downtown. The breakfasts are great and hearty and again, staff is incredibly pleasant. I can't say enough about the Inn and you will not be disappointed.

Our last night of a 12-night road trip was spent at the amazing Esmeralda. From our warm welcome to departure, everything was perfect. We needed a relaxing evening in a beautiful room, following a great dinner. Following dinner, be sure to walk up to the fire pit...listening to the stream will wash away all your cares. The beautiful breakfast presentation was only overshadowed by the delicious food. This Select Registry property is a must visit. Esmeralda meaning emerald is a true gem!
