Well,I am 55 years old now and stayed at this same Motel in the 1970's and expected it to be more from 40 year old memories. It still is a very nice place to stay.Rates were a little more than I had expected, but there was a festival going on the last stay.Overall it was still a clean, very convenient place to stay close to all of Cherokee and the rest of the Smoky's.

I doubt understand ask the good reviews. This place was a dump. The only good thing I can think of is I didn't see any bugs. It was dirty, rundown, lights burned out, furniture and beds stained and VERY old, very noisy at night (drunks pounding on doors all night). We could not wait to leave. Sorry I wanted to like it but cannot begin to recommend.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Pink Motel. I was expecting a hotel that was run down and had seen better days. However the outside looks like it has been freshly painted and cute little rocking chairs are situated at each front entrance to the room. Inside you found a flat screen tv, microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker. The beds were comfortable, my only recommendation here would be to update the comforters! They looked like they might have been purchased 10 years ago. However the bedsheets as well as the old comforter were clean. I took a shower during the day and I had no water pressure. It was just a trickle. However my husband and mother in law both had high pressure showers. It may have been because other guests were showering at the same time. Everyone working at the motel was very friendly. I would often find my mother in law talking to the front desk receptionist, Moana. Anything we needed we were able to get from the staff. We were also able to bring our dog Bella! This is a great asset to us, especially since the pet fee was on $15 a night! On last thing to mention is the river that runs behind the motel. It was a bit more rocky than I expected leading up to the river, but the path was only a little challenging to get down to the river banks. Overall a great experience at the Pink Motel!

Pet friendly for a nominal fee. Room was fresh and clean. Had a newer tv, microwave and fridge all working well. The Oconaluftee flows behind the motel with easy but a little iffy access. The location is quiet and close to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Blue Ridge Pkwy. The office lady was pleasant and a gas station is next door. The place has some minor to irritating issues that need to be addressed. Peeling wallpaper in places, small water stains on the ceiling, weather stripping on the doors, especially the bottom, water never got hot just pleasantly warm; water pressure low, toilet nearly stops up. Those steps to the river could use a handrail. Oh, and please fix that beautiful neon sign out front. This is a classic throwback to the 50s -60s road trip overnighter, but with a little paint here and there, could really shine. Overall a good place to stay. I'd stay there again, but for what it is, the price should be lowered.

Room Tip: Stay away from the Newfound Lodge side if you can. Smokers are terrible on that side.

This motel is not your upscale place. It could use a lot of upgrading but it is in decent shape as long as it has been around. all the ladies that were in the office were very nice. The river behind the motel is the best thing about this location, and the fact that it was very quiet.
