Terrible old buildings. Smells bad. Roaches in room. No vending machines work. Wifi is spotty. Two outlets in room didn’t work. Poor ventilation in room. All and all there isn’t much you can say for this place that is positive. Avoid at all costs.

Best place to stay in Cherokee is Rodeway Inn and Suites. Great location near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Rooms have great views of the Oconaluftee River. Great place to relax after a day of hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Great Value Price! Balcony View of River is beautiful. The river has a calm, soothing restful sound! The manager on duty was very pleasant and accommodating. But go check out your room before you check in. The room we were assigned reeked with a very strong nauseating smoke smell. But the manager gave us another room with no problem. This room was very clean and smelled nice! The Beds were very comfortable with newer firm mattresses. Quality of sleep was excellent! We discovered the hair dryer was not working but the manager had the Maintenace man replace it with in 10 minutes! Lucky if you get one within 2 days at other hotels. I would highly recommend this hotel if you were not looking for all the fancy frills. We are not early risers and love going out for Breakfast at Waffle House at 11:00 anyway. Don't care for 6:00am free continental hotel breakfast. We came to rest and catch up on sleep. Motel has housekeeping with clean linens. Cleaning your room is by request. After staying here, I would not stay anywhere else in Cherokee NC. Anywhere you want to go visit is within a 2 to10 mile radius. Restaurants, Harris Cherokee, Camping, Grocery Store, Gas Station, Family Dollar, Pizza and more. Hopefully this will help someone who Loves the Great Smokey Mountains Vacations. Sincerely, Beachcomber

Needs updating. Although fairly clean it's getting aged. There is no breakfast here, even though the website says it does. We were told at check-in they haven't served breakfast in 3 years. I always book a place that has breakfast. It was listed as serving breakfast on the choice app when I booked. It has now been updated.

We stayed at this hotel, before it was a Rodeway several years ago and really enjoyed it. This time, it was very relaxing. The hotel has not had any upkeep that we could see. There were stains and a cigarette burn hole on the bedspread and stains on the curtains to the balcony and the carpet. The room was clean other than the stains, for this is why I gave it a 3. No breakfast was served and coffee was not served in the lobby until 7 a.m. The woman who worked as so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area and I really enjoyed visiting with her. The others answered only when spoken to. The hotel itself is in a great spot. It was so relaxing to sit on the balcony and hear the river run. The bank of the river is overgrown so the visual is not as good as it was, though still nice. With a little upkeep this could be a 5 star place. Would we stay here again, yes, just because of the location. Please update the hotel, make it as nice as it was before.

Only if you are desperate for a room! We needed to stay near Bryson and couldn't get a room for a one night stay which was on a Friday. Paid $150.00 for a dumpy room. Only because we were desperate. Never again! If I get that desperate I will sleep in car. Never stayed at a Rodeway...never will again. From the outside...not a bad looking property. Inside...bedding was old and stained as well as the sheets. Bathroom was dirty and no soaps, 2 bathtowels and 1 washcloth. Asked for a wake up call because alarm clock in room didn't work and never got one. Luckily I set cellphone alarm. No elevator..we were placed on 2nd floor. Supply and demand...we needed a room and should be grateful we got one. In all honesty....never again. (This was a last minute need or I wouldn't of been in that predicament). I am honest with my review to help other people.

I've stayed at this hotel as it went through all the names in the Choice Hotel franchise. It was Quality Inn when I started and now it is Roadway Inn. Overall, I liked my room and the desk clerk did put me away from other guests. I usually get put next to the Brady Bunch or Over-the-hill Bikers. My room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Noise was minimal and I am grateful for that. That said, there were a lot of little quirks and no-go appliances in the room. The A/C unit made a squeaky noise when it cut on but it did cool the room. The bathroom sink had no warm water and only cold. The hallway sink had hot and cold water but the drain lever did not work. I filled it up once and could never empty it again. Luckily the shower had hot and cold water and good pressure. Housekeeping did not come around with new towels or to empty the trash cans or replenish the coffee supplies. I had to ask at the front desk about those things. Front desk help ranged from overly-chatty clerks to surly "what do you want" clerks. It is a tough job and people are pretty horrible these days--I get it. The no-housekeeping while you stay policy was a new one for me. I did not pay a discount rate for my stay. I will come back but probably only for off-season rates.

If all you need is a clean room and a nice bed, this will do nicely. Rooms have balconies overlooking the river. Only about 2 miles from the casino. The website advertised free breakfast, but they're not serving it. My other complaint is that the internet was down all day Sunday & Monday morning.

No one at check in when I arrived and no number to call to get anyone or note left to say what had happened or how long I'd have to wait. It turned out there was one person working at the front desk who had left for a while to make herself dinner but that's not a good enough excuse in my view. Also no breakfast but I suspect that's a rule of the Cherokee reservation and the hotel has no say in it. Other than that, a great place with a large room and a balcony with a view of the river. I certainly prefer Cherokee to Gatlinburg.

Have been staying at this hotel for many years. We were always pleased, until now. They are advertising a full breakfast, something that is part of our decision making when finding a hotel. In the past they had a very good breakfast. This trip we're told they stopped that during covid, but have not changed the listing (still says full breakfast).
