First time at this hotel and on the east coast last stop was charlotte so we picked this hotel mainly off of ratings we haven’t had the chance to explore much yet but our room is tidy and very cute. Also Ibraheem was super helpful and was very friendly and made me feel super welcomed on our arrival! So far we’re so excited to be here for a few days before we head back to AK 😊

If you like paying for 2 queen beds - but getting 2 beds-each only 1 inch bigger than a full size bed. (I have read we don't complain. So, they continue to slide them into hotels and call them queens) You get a coffee maker and a frig. So, no warming up food. The rooms seemed to have good sound barriers. Other then the HUGE COMPLAINT about the beds! There is a restaurant and a bar/lounge in the hotel. The food was edible. Not a bad price for the food you got. The service could use some work. I had 3 servers help us throughout the meal. When it was time to pay, you had to pay your server. You could just get up and pay someone.(I tried this. It caused mass confusion) The bar prices seemed to be inline with all the events for the week. $26 for 2 mixed drinks. The bar service was slow compared to what I am used to. But, I haven't been to many hotel bars that have super speed service. A great bonus. There is a grocery store less then a block away. You can get hot or cold food and you can get beer and wine.

Had the pleasure of staying at this Westin property during a quick business trip to Charlotte. From the moment I was checked in early by the wonderful Front Desk Representative with the cool glasses and great personality (I wish I had gotten her name!) to my last interaction with the lovely Roosevelt on the concierge team as he retrieved my bags, I can honestly say the hotel staff was one of the nicest I’ve ever experienced. They all seemed to be genuinely friendly and happy to assist their guests. I would definitely recommend this hotel! And just as an aside, the lobby smells great, too! 😊

My stay was nice. The front desk and valet were very friendly...however....there were strands of hair in the shower as if it wasn't cleaned AND a couple of days after I checked out I received a charge for $154. $50 of it was valid from valet parking but the other $104 was not. When I called I was told it was “for an additional night but it was not supposed to be charged to my card because I paid in full on Expedia” I did not book on Expedia. I paid for my room in full and checked out right on time. She said this was a mistake and she would email the accounting team to issue a credit but it would take 7-10 days. I do not think I should have to be inconvenienced for 7-10 days for a mistake that is the hotel's fault. I read reviews after booking about things being stolen from rooms and additional charges showing up after check out and I thought I would be good. I was WRONG. If you chose to stay here, please lock up all your valuables and CHECK YOUR FOLIO AND ACCOUNTS!

I stayed at this hotel 6/26/23-6/29/23 while attending the Solution Tree PLC Conference for educators. On the afternoon prior to checkout, I had a $100 bill go missing from my room. It was laying on the counter with receipts from my trip that morning. Around 5:00, I noticed it was no longer there when we were preparing to leave for dinner. My colleague that I was traveling with had informed me our room had been serviced that afternoon (he had left the room a little before 3 and the beds were made/towels restocked at 5 when we both had returned to the room. My immediate thought was the housekeeper had mistaken it for a tip (as the receipts were still there). I reported to the manager at the front desk immediately so he could ask housekeeping. I truly was expecting an honest mistake had been made. The first red flag came the following morning when the manager notified me Housekeeping had indicated they had not serviced our room the previous day. I knew this to be a lie as my bed was made and towels were replenished when I returned at 5:00 the previous day. Manager informs me the next step is to turn it over to Security. This process made me late to my work conference. Dana, head of security, took over the “investigation.” She verified quickly that housekeeping had accessed my room that day. Housekeeper told her she did not service the room but only brought towels to the door and gave to a “gentleman” inside the room. The problem with story #2 is the “gentleman” I shared a room with was in a meeting with myself and 3 of our other colleagues in the hotel lobby at the time security verified housekeeping used their room key to access our room and hand a “gentleman” some towels. I asked them to check video. I was told they do not have video in the hallways. I asked them to check the lobby cameras and provided them with a picture of our work group who was meeting (which included my roommate). Dana was able to verify that ALL 5 of my colleagues were indeed meeting in the hotel lobby at the time the housekeeper used her card to enter my room. That’s the 2nd lie the housekeeper was caught in. Pretty clear what’s going on at this point, right? Nope. Not clear to Dana and her partner from HR in the investigation. Dana informed me that the housekeeper was still adamant she only opened the door and gave a “gentleman” some towels. I asked who could’ve been in the room if you’ve verified my entire traveling party was in the lobby. Dana responded: “Well, somebody else could have been in there.” To which I responded: “How and who?!” Still waiting on that answer…. For what it’s worth, I think Dana is being pressured by somebody above her to back the housekeeper at all costs…..just not sure why. I’m hopeful this will be resolved, but I am currently still out $100 and lots of time on the phone over this event that happened TWO weeks ago. It’s a matter of principle to me at this point….don’t want others to fall victim to this circumstance. To be clear, I don’t have proof the housekeeper physically took the money, but if innocent, why lie on 2 different occasions. This hotel is obviously unsafe and shows a total disregard for the safety of its guests and their belongings. The crazy part to me is the fact they are going to such lengths to cover up $100 going missing and continued lies by the housekeeper. I would strongly discourage anyone from staying here. Disappointing.

There are a lot of hotels within a few blocks of the Westin. For the value, I’d pick the Westin every time. The staff was friendly and helpful and our room was clean, well-appointed, spacious, light, and quiet. Be aware that it’s a downtown hotel, so there is street noise below. But put the fan on high for white noise while you sleep and it will help.
