Booked to stay 2 nights over a weekend to explore the city. One arrival the hotel lobby was full of school children, crowding the elevator lobby and ignoring the person capacity restrictions in place for covid. We were put in an accessible room on the 10th floor overlooking the main road. The room was presentable, nothing special and way below the standard I expected for $180 a night. The worst element of the room was the condition of the pillows on the bed. They had no volume, and when I looked closely they were covered in brown sweat stains and had obviously never been laundered. I requested replacements which never arrived. We were concerned by the number of unsupervised children at the hotel, running along corridors, not following covid rules and knocking on doors throughout the night. We had to call security to speak to them as they kept banging on our room door into the early hours of the morning. My final comment relates to the car park and lack of valet parking. I had an early flight and had to collect the car from the hotel car park at 5.30am. The car park was underground with poor lighting and no security. As a female traveller I felt very unsafe having to collect my car at such a quiet time of day. I won’t be back and would not recommend.

While at this hotel recently , severe muscle spasm came on me. (I have had them before). Thanks to the young lady at the front desk, and even security, who made sure I had a pleasant stay. When you travel as I and my wife do it is easy to feel like you are just a number. Not at all here at the Westin. My wife attended her conference knowing I was safe and secure. Excellent!!!

Westin? I thought I was staying at a Holiday Inn. I have to say that I’m extremely disappointed in the service of this location. Over decades of traveling all over the globe, I genuinely did not feel that the staff at this location represents the quality of the Westin brand or Marriott properties in general. It started with a check-in process. As a Gold Elite member I naturally proceeded to the Bonvoy elite check-in line. The 3 people working the front desk, refused to not only acknowledge me standing there but not even make eye contact. My wife decided to stand in the regular line and sure enough she was invited to the counter first. Upon looking up my reservation not once was I even recognized as a loyal elite member, no mention of welcome points, room upgrade, Internet, late checkout availability, restraint hours, nothing. The attitude was almost lien they were making me a favor for allowing me to stay there?! Really? It didn’t get much better after that, the seating area around the pool was poorly designed with not enough chairs / tables available for the guests. When looking for a place to get dinner, I called down to the front desk to ask about availability and to be transferred to JP Charlotte (restaurant at the hotel). I was told by the staff that the restaurant does not have a phone but that reservation isn’t needed for the guests and we should just proceed downstairs and we’ll get a table. To our surprise (or lack thereof) the restaurant wasn’t even open for dinner!! At night my entire family was awake from 1am to 3am as other guests on my floor though it was best time and place to socialize and argue in the hallways. I finally called the front desk out of frustration at 2:50am and only then did the noise finally subside. In the morning, we decided to get the breakfast before departing. We ended up standing confused by the host stand as no one was there to greet us nor was there a sign that guest can help themselves to a table. Nothing? We were finally waved in after about 10 minutes by one of two servers working in the restaurant. This was the only highlight of the stay as the server (Her name was Tan I believe) was one of the nicest people we’ve me and did an amazing job handling enormous amount of tables. Needless to say I did not received my account statement under the door in the morning (as expected in the property of this caliber). I’ve checked out in the app but again wasn’t able to access the charges on my folio. The app suggested to stop by the front desk to get a copy. Fruitlessly, I once again stood in the (now useless) Bonvoy elite line and being late for an appointment left after 15 minutes of frustration. Let hope my charges are correct.

When I first arrived I pulled into the parking garage and got a parking ticket. I arrived at 12pm and was worried because check-in was not until 3pm. The woman who assisted me was very kind and accommodating. She took the parking ticket and let me know that I could use my key to get in and out of the garage. She allowed me to check in early and that was a blessing. I walked into my room and was very pleased with how spacious it was. The glass standing shower was a plus. I loved the big windows to view the city and had an amazing morning view of the sun (check out the picture). The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. That says a lot about the owner and those that work there:) . Check out was fast and easy and it was at 12. Having check out at 12 instead of 10am or 11am gave me more time to enjoy the comforts of my room. I didn’t do room service but I called down to the front desk for more cream and I was pleased at how fast it came. Oh and the coffee in your room is Starbucks with real liquid creamer, not the powdered packets you typically find.
