Nice hotel. Rooms were ok, dated, especially the bathrooms. Service (housekeeping, valet, etc) is very good. Spa is great. Lots of construction outside, didn’t seem to bother us except the main entrance is closed. Service at the restaurant for breakfast was great one day and really slow the next. Food was very good though. One day the elevator was in service mode in the morning and held to one floor. This was frustrating as there were lines for the elevator. And then people would skip the lines. That was frustrating.

The hotel is gorgeous, but what luxury hotel isn't? It's the staff that makes this hotel stand out. They are very customer service oriented, friendly, and welcoming. Our valet Jeffrey Barbour left a positive impression on our group. He went out of his way that was above and beyond bringing our luggage to the car. He was truly vested in ensuring that our experience at the Ballantyne was enjoyable, and provided us with service that was fit for VIPs. Cudos to the Ballantyne for hiring exceptional, quality staff! 👏👏👏

Cannot say enough about how beautiful and clean this hotel is. We had a king deluxe room and it was perfect. Breakfast on the outside terrace of the Gallery was great and the young waitress we had was so very friendly and accommodating. Emery at the outdoor pool was terrific and worked relentlessly to serve the many guests there. I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Charlotte. The location, luxury hotel, and kind hospitality were 5 star.

The staff at this hotel is what makes it so special! I have to give extra credit to two of the bellmen we interacted with during our 3 night stay. Nakia and Jeffery were rock stars! Super friendly, very helpful and top notch customer service! If these two guys could be cloned to work at every hotel, the world would be a much happier place. The hotel it's self is lovely, the rooms were clean and spacious. We didn't eat there. I will say the setting was not what I expected. It was in an industrial area, the photo's did leave me to believe I was going to go up a tree lined road to big hotel. Nonetheless, I'd stay there again. There were a lot of nice places to eat nearby.

I am literally still crying from my “special trip” that I had planned at this hotel. Flew in family (one of which is sick and dying and it maybe my last time seeing her). Rented fancy cars for everyone. Had planned a spa retreat for my daughters 18th bday and Mother’s Day for the women that have been there for us. I was a 15 year old mother, I was left homeless and hungry. I fought to be a mother, build a business, and my daughter and I had finally made it. I had remembered going to the hotel before for a dinner. I thought it would be a perfect spa day/special place. I am still crying as I type this. - I paid and booked in advance because the booking agent said they could accommodate us at the spa. I paid for the nicest room/cottage. Since we were just coming for a fun day/evening, I wanted it to be perfect. Which is why I went to a “Luxury” resort. I knew things had to be right and with a resort with this level achievements, it would absolutely be right… or so I thought. - First I had to call 3 times and several people after the spa reservation wasn’t made by the original person that booked at Marriott. - Upon trying to get the appointment at the spa, they had no availability and the woman was truly nasty. So I pay private people to come in last minute. - I arrive and the grounds are a MESS. Complete construction site, dead plants, trash, I was so confused.Nothing like what I had been promised or expected. It was a giant construction site. - The valet is the same person as the bellman. They have all these white men in suits standing around that are management while they make one little brown man do all the work. Let’s call this the “Legal Slavery” Marriott. -No one warned us or even bothered helping us to the cottage. This put us behind because we were lost for an hour in the construction. We missed out dinner reservations and had to eat my daughters bday dinner at some crappy place that could accommodate 9 people last minute. - We get to the “fancy” cottage/house. It disgusting. Red wine is all over the carpet. There are broken glasses in the bushes and on the patio (clearly had been there for a long time). There was an ant infestation and all of the food we ordered was covered in bugs. - Then I go to talk to the manager on duty on Sunday. Because I was crying in the middle of the lobby. He was dismissive and walked away and left me crying in the lobby on my daughters bday. The massages were cancelled and everything I had planned had been ruined, completely. - His boss comes in and makes excuses for him and comps the disgusting room that they shouldn’t be renting. However, makes NO attempt to take responsibility for any of the implications that their lies and laziness caused. Nothing was figured out, not only that but I had spent the entire time I was there trying to get things fixed, so I didn’t even see my family that I paid to fly in. I spent thousands to have one special day at their hotel and they sold me something that was a lie, wasted my time, my money, and ruined a moment I looked for what to for almost 20 years. I will be hiring an attorney because there is clear sexism, racism, fraud, and susceptible trade practices. I asked for the manager to call me, he brushed me off again - guess I’ll make Marriott care since doing the right thing isn’t their brand. THIS IS NOT OKAY! I

On a recent visit to Charlotte we stayed at Ballantyne Luxury Hotel on April 20-25, 2023 and during our stay we were treated like royalty. Not only is the hotel breathtaking and classy but the people are amazing and go over the top to make sure everything is top notch. I would like to thank everyone and have a few names of people who went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. Cameron Nakia Brittnee Jeffery Isaiah Maggie Emily Josh Mya The spa is amazing and absolutely a must. The gift shop provided me with many of the highest quality toiletries to spoil myself with once I return home. The food was delicious, the grounds were impeccable and the beds were so comfortable that on our fourth night we actually bought one for our home. Best nights sleep ever!! Thanks again for a wonderful experience. We hope to see you all again soon!!! Sincerely, Andy & Roni Brooks

I am really sad to leave this review. I waited but issue has not been resolved. I realize I left items in my room …BUT I called same day as check out…was told the room had not been cleaned and they would retrieve and call me. The items do value around 300 bucks. No call. The next day I called again…I was told yet again it would be handled. Then I got 2 more calls that day from same person …asking for room number, name and items…so with the day before it’s now been 4 times I’ve given the info. Called again next two days…then I get a call they can’t find them…no attempt to resolve. I called every day for a week before housekeeping mgr called me. She told me genres mgr would call to resolve, that was over a week ago. NO CALL! except someone who asked me for info for twenty hundredth time. Really under par for a hotel of this caliber.

We had previously stayed at this hotel back on October 2022. This time around we were heading home and our flight was cancelled and we were stuck in Charlotte for two days. It was a last minute selection through hotwire and we were happy when we found out it was the Ballantyne. But when we got there, construction closed one entrance. Ok, we knew they had plans. Then one of the elevators was not working. So the line to use was rather long. My parents room was (113) off of the lobby. Unfortunately, they heard the lobby music all night long. The second night, the doors to the wing were closed which allowed for a quieter evening. They found a bottle of wine half drunk. So we reported it so they were not charged. My mom had dropped something and when she looked for it, she found a sock under the bed. Our room was 529. Fortunately, once in the room, it was quiet as there were some noisy people as you walked passed their rooms. Our room was not as clean or stocked as it should have been. There was no bars of soap for the sink. There was no soap holder had there been a bar. There were no q-tips, cotton swabs. The amenities was a small bottle of lotion and mouthwash. The shower had bottles of body wash, conditioner and shampoo. But how does one wash their hands or take a bath with no soap? In addition, there were no amenities on display as the sign read. So I made sure to take a picture so as not to be charged. And the fridge was not fully stocked. So again, I took a picture of this too. I dropped something and when I went to pick it up, I found toe nail clippings. So that led me to believe the rug/floor had not been vacuumed. We wrote a note with a tip and we received soap, the clippings were gone. But should I have to point this out? Although it was through hotwire, it was not cheap. They had a cute teatime on Sunday and we would've done it, but there were not options for gluten free or dairy free. Note, there is free coffee/tea, but you need to be dressed to travel down to the lobby to obtain. This turned out to be great for my dad as he was located nearby. Internet is not so great. I could not connect my phone no matter what I did. I kept getting a DNS error or something like that. The password I was given for the conference connection did not work. So now comes check out, which should have been smooth and quick. It turns out someone charged a breakfast to our room and it almost seemed like nothing was going to be done. And when a call was made, they were going to leave our bill unsettled so that they could figure it out. Yeah, no. I wanted that settled right then. We were heading to the airport to go back home. What recourse would we have if more charges were incurred on our left open bill? Apparently, someone gave the wrong room. If someone gives their room number, there should be a name check with ID. How often does this happen? I was not happy with this last impression most of all. This visit was not as pleasant as the first especially as it was an added expense we could not avoid.

We had the pleasure of staying at this fabulous hotel recently. From the divine fragrance as you walk in, the professional friendly doormen who offer you a drink on arrival to the efficient informative check-in with Maggie, our stay was second to none. As luxurious as our room was, with great attention to detail, we also enjoyed the many options in and around the hotel to relax- beautiful indoor & outdoor pool, quiet lounging areas, bar and tea area. My visit to the Spa was pure indulgence! The current building work being done across the park is not intrusive/noisy and we look forward to revisiting one day to see the completed project as well as enjoy another stay at this great hotel! Many thanks to all the staff!
