Very nice, affordable and clean campground. Very convenient to things around Charlotte if you don't want to spend the whole time at Carowinds. Only thing that would make it better is to add a playground for younger children.

Rented Great Wilderness lodge for 90th birthday celebration with 40 people in attendance. Perfect location for my family who had some attending driving rvs to party. The lodge was perfect for the event. Plenty of space for everyone to sit at large dining room table, game table, picnic tables or on wrap around porch. Great area for children to run...

First, let me say I do *not* like camping at all. We were going to be spending a day at Carowinds, so we decided to rent one of the cabins and go "glamping." I highly recommend the cabins because you get the feel of camping, yet have the comforts and conveniences of home. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful....

We only stayed for 1 night on our trip further north but we thought the site was perfect. Bathrooms were clean and roomy. We had a pull through camp site with asphalt as the base so it was strong and we sat secure. It was far enough the interstate so very quiet as well. The staff asked if we were...

Not bad, we stayed in the cabins, 4 adults and two kids 10 & 11. The interior of the cabin was very clean. All the mattresses were Ok at best comfort wise but thats what I was expecting. The covered porch was nice but there were a couple of wasp nests in the roof, one we were able to reach...

We stayed here over a weekend when the park wasn't really busy. It was rainy and the site was a bit muddy. Very nice people staying next to us. Employees were very nice and organized! Pizza delivered to office made our late arrival great! Some parts are showing it's age but how great to drive your RV almost to the...

After many years of staying at a hotel or tackling the 3 hour late night drive home after a big night of Scarowinds, I discovered Camp Wilderness. The suggestions from other contributors were helpful. There were no cabins available so we decided to stay at a campsite.I picked an odd number site: 11- 19, as was suggested by another contributor, and...

Great rv park, clean and attractive. Conveniently located to everything. It was off-season and the affiliated amusement park (across the street) was closed which was a plus for us otherwise the rv park would have been crowded and noise I imagine. But as it was, it was very quiet with lots of empty spaces. The staff were very friendly. We...

Nice campground. It was very quiet during the week, but busy on the weekend because of Scarowiinds. We had site #175 and it was pretty spacious - more than the KOA where you put your awning out and hit the next camper. There was some shouting one night and then someone was beeping a horn during the night (I believe...
